Imagine youâre at the lake on a foggy morning.
When you feel overwhelmed â itâs a sign that you need to to take a break, make more time for self-care, or change up the way youâre tackling your responsibilities.
When you feel depressed â itâs a sign that youâre in a situation that feels hopeless and youâre lacking in the resources necessary to successfully navigate your struggle and feel in control of your environment.
When youâre still having a reaction to something upsetting that happened a long time ago â it means that you need to do more work processing that trauma/ struggle and that you need more effective coping mechanisms.
When you feel anxious about something â it means you havenât yet acquired the experience and evidence necessary to show you that you can do this thing and be okay. It DOESNâT mean youâll never get that evidence or that youâll struggle forever - just that this is where you are right now.
You donât need to beat yourself up. And you donât have to feel ashamed. You just have listen. Listen to what your body is telling you and use that information to help you grow and navigate the world in a way that feels best FOR YOU.Â
You arenât failing and you arenât inadequate - youâre just collecting information. Your information is allowed to look different than other peopleâs. No matter what anyone else feels, your emotions are important and your experience is valid.
âEverythingâs a risk. Not doing anything is a risk. Itâs up to you.â

I just realized all the kids growing up with Spotify donât have to spend money on specific music anymore, so they probably wonât have the memory of saving up money to buy their first CD and having it be something super cringyâŠlike I think I saved up $15 for three weeks to buy the Pirates of the Caribbean soundtrack at Barnes & Noble when I was 9 and I was really proud of myself for that. Add your first CD you were way too proud of buying in the tags
helpsomeyhing just happened but i feel like i hve to draw it words cannot capturr the emotion
motherfucker how do you recover from this
Writing advice from my uni teachers:
If your dialog feels flat, rewrite the scene pretending the characters cannot at any cost say exactly what they mean. No one says âIâm madâ but they can say it in 100 other ways.
Wrote a chapter but you dislike it? Rewrite it again from memory. That way youâre only remembering the main parts and can fill in extra details. My teacher who was a playwright literally writes every single script twice because of this.
Donât overuse metaphors, or they lose their potency. Limit yourself.
Before you write your novel, write a page of anything from your characters POV so you can get their voice right. Do this for every main character introduced.
I know the American healthcare system is already a joke but this is to funny
My aunt-in-law does this. She asked for an itemized bill once and saw that they charged her $25 for a single bandaid for her sonâs 3 stitches. So she marched over to RiteAid, bought a box of bandaids, marched into the billing office, slapped one band aid on their desk, and demanded they take the $25 off her bill since she reimbursed them one bandaid. Needless to say, the rest of the ridiculous charges were dealt with in a similar manner.....sheâs scary.....
My dad always does this too! A clinic tried charging him for absolutely ridiculous things, including a blanket which wasnât even offered to him! I usually wouldnât encourage hassling people about prices, but as far as Iâm concerned, health care is fair game.Â
