i mean this in the gentlest possible way but if 75% of what you're posting for a given fandom is fuming rage spirals then maybe just maybe it's time to take a step back and consider whether or not you're actually having any fun with this optional thing you do for fun
rereading pierce's early tortall books as an adult is like. they're not perfect. especially as someone brown and asian lol. but you can feel like that specific era of feminism coming off the page almost as a response to the state of the genre when it was written. the amount of times an older women would take a child or teen protagonist aside and be like just so you know you don't have to marry someone you slept with. no one can force you to be pregnant. contraceptive methods are easily available. sex workers deserve respect and care. you don't have to stay silent about abuse and despite our sexist society resources do exist to protect you. a womans body is her own. just a relentless focus on reproductive health specifically in her medieval fantasy books about dealing with gender roles

He's a whole different man at Zee...
i get why people don't believe in marriage as a social construct but legally it is the best and easiest way to say "this is who i trust to take care of me when i can't take care of myself" and i'm so glad gay people fought for that right bc when shit gets scary at least i know im in good hands
we bought a shirt at a thrift store that says "best mom in louisiana" for some reason (as a reminder we are in midwest germany) and now my spouse keeps walking around the house wearing it and saying shit like "WHO STANDS BEFORE THE GREATEST MOM OF LOUISIANA?"
i think "conservatives can't make good art" is a generally juvenile and incorrect sentiment that you'll find debunked by plenty of good art made by bad people and bad art with good politics, but it is always really stark when a piece's most monumental failings all very obviously boil down to the fact that, like, the creator does not see or write women as people with any particular interiority or purpose beyond childrearing
i'm glad everyone took this as an opportunity to start jerking themselves off in my notes about how conservatives ARE incapable of making good art you're RIGHT parsley that IS what you said instead of engaging with the misogyny part in any capacity

In a melancholy mood because i made myself too sad writing about my oc's emotional trauma
I was trying to say this a little while ago but i do have to side eye the way that sometimes when people start getting on a bent of redesigning & diversifying a cast of thin characters. They will make very passionate arguments about why one character in particular should be fat and it's like. Oh they really like sweets in canon. Oh they drink a lot in canon. Oh they don't take care of themself or have a sedintary role in canon. And... sure. That's fine. It's not a bad thing to notice that traits that are quirky and cute for skinny characters often lead to being fat irl and fiction dodges the quencies because the creator wants to keep the character hot. But it's still a little bit tied up in the idea that you have to be doing the bad fat-causing things to be fat instead of just being genetically predisposed to it or taking birth control or antidressants or having sleep apnea or hormone issues or the many other things that make people gain & carry weight irl. Idk it's just something that when you see it once, it's fun, and when you see it multiple times it's like... oh okay you are still tying appearance to characterization.
