Haii just curious but are you comfortable writing (sfw) age regression headcanons? I could totally see Henry regressing as a coping mechanism (especially because of the thumb sucking thing)
hi yes of course i’m comfortable with this!
(i did a little research and stuff but if i get anything wrong please don’t be afraid to tell me so i can fix it)
-Henry usually regresses to about 7 years old, but sometimes will be 3 if he really needs it
-he’s really afraid of the dark and cannot sleep in a fully dark room
-he’s very protective over his plushies. he always has one with him and he swaps out which one he takes so that they all get an equal turn.
-he managed to bring one of them to the lab and had it in his room for a few months before Brenner took it away as punishment. that was a really really bad day for him, he couldn’t stop crying and didn’t talk for a few weeks. he eventually tries to use one of his sheets balled up in his arms as a replacement but it’s not the same.
-he really loves disney movies/characters. they make him think about Alice and remind him of when they’d get to go on extra special trips to the theater to see them
-his need to be held can feel so strong that it’s almost crushing. when he’s in the lab, he’s never held and it just makes everything feel worse. he tries to wrap his arms round himself but it doesn’t work.
-he has to fight really hard to keep his thumb out of his mouth around the lab. mostly for hygiene reasons but also because he’s afraid the other lab workers will make fun of him (and they already do it enough). he can only do it in his room or if he finds a place to hide
and of course i have a bunch for for saved!henry too
-after he’s un-flayed he tends to regress more often, but now he’s able to do so safely.
-loooooves a cup of warm chocolate milk
-he has sooo many blankets and pillows and plushies now that his bed is essentially made into a blanket fort. it helps him feel super comfortable especially with his chronic pain
-he loves putting stickers on his face. he thinks they’re cute and it helps him on the days where his insecurities about the scars on his face get to him
-still sucks his thumb for comfort but is able to do so freely now. will also substitute hard candy and lollipops sometimes
-he actually ends up liking soft pastel colors, especially yellow
-he’s used to being the tallest, so when he regresses he likes to imagine he’s a lot shorter than he actually is. so he might stand on a chair to grab something he can usually reach or ask for help reaching something
-his biggest interests are still outer space and super heroes! he loves to talk/learn about space and will also definitely play pretend as an astronaut. he also loves reading comics and playing superhero (especially spider-man and of course captain midnight)
