Ranking Candle Woods (#9) Players
VOL 1 + MINOR VOL 2,3,5 SPOILERS
Moegi is not meant for these death games. She can be brutal as when she trained the stumps. She also noticed when the red haired stump was trying to trick her so Moegi murdered her right away.
She’s not really good at strategy. Like when she fought Yuki she had practically no strategy at all. Hence why she lost so easily.
She’s not a weak person but she’s a weak player. Even Yuki pointed out she wouldn’t really last long in these death games …. she didn’t. . . She died on her 3rd death game.
Moegi is kind of a wannabe player, she just isn’t meant for the industry.
Moegi lacks actual strategy and just tries to act brutal — she’s just not meant for the games is all.
So this one kinda up in the air. Out of all of the players Sumiyaka we know the least about.
We know Sumiyaka cleared 28 death games, this is her 29th so she’s obviously skilled. She’s probably more skilled than Yuki was at the time.
I just think as a player she is obviously above average but among the veterans there’s nothing really special about her like some of these others players.
But still skilled but not enough info so yeah 5 place.
Hakushi is obviously a player in her own league. Before Candle Woods everyone knew who she was.
She is very good strategist, like how she told Yuki to avoid homicidal maniacs because they play to kill not survive 2 completely different skills. Or how in Flickering Candleflame (#3) from VOL5, she knew immediately Yuki shouldn’t aim for her head because it can easily be mobile. Or how she hid the gun in the tanuki doll for Yuki.
Hakushi surviving 96 games is a miracle. She’s probably one of the best player to ever exist.
She’s 4 place because she’s physically weakened. All the body modifications and constant preservation treatment significantly weakened her. It’s why she lost to Kyara (someone 86 games below her) and had to fake dead while being ripped apart alive.
I think if Hakushi was in her prime during Candle Woods she probably would’ve killed Kyara & avoided the incident.
Even Hakushi knows she’s weakened. So she decided to retire & let Yuki take her goal.
Kyara…yeah. The one who killed 300 brutally with a knife and caused the Candle Woods incident. Kyara is an anomaly, not many players like her exist.
Not counting Moegi, Hizumi, Shion,…she’s killed every player she encounters.
She obviously is being helped by the fact you know she has literal metal in her body.
However it’s still surprising nobody has killed her in vulnerable spots like the eyes/mouth like what Yuki did. It doesn’t make her invincible.
Or even in real life, Kyara is a serial killer/killed several people and yet nobody has caught her. That’s also wow..scary.
Kyara’s metal only protects parts of her body and yet she managed to survive 9 games , plus 300 players, killing everyone and nobody even put a scratch on her until Yuki showed up.
She also knew that Yuki trying to stab her in the neck was good, so she knows strategy.
Kyaras’s only 3rd because the metal protects her so it’s not as impressive but still wow.
Yuki was amazing in Candle Woods. She escaped the bunny camp onto the stump camp which is an immediate risk.
She fought and killed Moegi effortlessly even though she had no weapons.
She also takes good advantage of the smoke grenade during the fights.
During Yuki vs Moegi, she used it before shooting her in the hip and shoulder and arm.
During Yuki vs Kyara she used it to blind Kyara so she can run to the tanuki doll—hidden with the gun Hakushi. She also knew to shoot Kyara in the same place as Moegi since Moegi is one of her students, so maybe the metal isn’t there.
Even Kyara was able to see Yuki’s talent and she thought Yuki was like herself.
Yuki was the one who was able to kill Kyara, something 300 people couldn’t do. Though she would be dead if she didn’t find the gun she could not kill Kyara with just that knife.
I think Airis in a league of her own. Candle Woods was her first game, an incident happens and she still survives.
She survived Kyara, the stumps killing each other, and also managed to meet her quota of killing 5 bunnies.
She had to kill 5 bunnies…during an incident…on her first game.
I just think it’s impressive that in your first game you survive the Candle Woods incident & meet your quota.
Plus , Airi doesn’t use body modifications (like Hakushi, Kyara, or Riko from VOL 2.). She also doesn’t seem to have permanent injuries (like Yuki’s eye).
Airi is still going strong I think she passed 90 games by the time VOL 10 comes and she survived the incident that happened during her Wall Of 30 mentioned in VOL 3.
And Airi doesn’t have the massive plot armor of being the MC. She is very meant for death games … unfortunately.
I think currently Airi might be the best player in the industry, or she’s up there.
