how do you render/colour ur art?? love ur stuff btw^_^
tbh a lot of my process is just a whole lotta "mess around and hope it looks good" ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
for coloring, i start with flat colors for the base. once i have those colors down, i select different sections and add gradients, messing around with the hue and brightness to make it pop more. usually i like to play around with color balancing and curves to increase the contrast and make it more saturated.
i recommend changing your drawing to grayscale to check the contrast. areas with lower contrast tend to blend together, so if you want certain areas to pop out or separate from each other, you can increase their contrast.
for rendering, i prefer cel shading. i have a couple of layer blending modes that i usually stick to:
- shadows: linear/color burn, multiply
- highlights/lighting: linear/color dodge, screen, add
- anything extra: overlay, soft/hard light
once i finish shading everything, i just add a bunch of layers with random effects/colors/blending modes and just mess around with the settings. this varies a lot depending on what mood i want for the piece
everything here is based on my preference, there is no right/wrong way of coloring or rendering. adjust based on your style :)
