Back from a month off tumblr, whoa!!! I deleted it while I was traveling, then decided I wouldn’t redownload until I finished Ronan’s tattoo. And here I am now.

This is the longest I have ever worked on something in my life, I’m honestly shocked at myself for seeing it through. It’s been a good challenge and I’ve learned a lot but at last I am free⛓️‍💥🙌

I started the design with descriptors from the books and expanded from there. The most important thing was to include a reference to every important person in Ronan’s life; the deer represent all the Lynches, and the others are scattered throughout. Overall, the right side pertains to The Raven Cycle and the left to The Dreamer Trilogy. I definitely took some creative liberties based on the implication that Ronan occasionally dreams up changes to the tattoo (it was originally paid for and done by hand). Close ups ↓

I was going to make a post detailing how Percy is actually detrimental to Nico's mental health and growth and the only argument the entire post hinged on was "Percy couldn't trust Nico".

Then I realized Nico did actually try to kill Percy. Even though he saved him like multiple other times. From Percy's perspective Nico is just the hot-and-cold character who pulls through when it's important but the guy literally tried to kill him. Unfortunately, our generally perspective Percy can't see further than the multiple times Nico's broken his trust - and for good reason. As a famous demigod, it's understandable he'll be suspicious. Maybe he talks to a lot of people but it was very apparent in HOO that Percy was struggling with trusting his team members and the only person he could really rely on was Annabeth.

While from Nico's perspective, Percy will always remain the "guy who got his sister killed" even though that's not true at all, and it's been proved so many times. For Nico, Percy will always remain a source of reminders of bad memories - his crush that he assumed would alienate him from the world, misaligned hate and anger directed towards him, and a general reminder of the discrimination he faces from Camp - seeing as Percy's basically the figurehead of CHB.

My point is that. The both acted like heady, traumatized teenagers. But also we still can't ignore the fact that:

Nico tried to kill Percy

Percy told the Argo crew that Nico was untrustworthy, leading them to isolate Nico and alienate him further under wrong impressions

Percy's and Nico's friendship is so complex when you actually sit and think about it. It might not be the healthiest outcome but it's the most understandable.

I see so many posts like “imagine being adrian and” and i haven’t seen ONE PERSON SAY imagine you’re adrian and your husband goes on a mission to save the world and comes back 50ish earth years later with an alien and they saved the world. Your husband tells you all about this planet they went to that had the microorganisms needed to save the world. And your husband named it after you. Oh my god that’s- oh. the artemis ii mission reminds me why i love humanity so much. they play pink pony club for the astronauts. they have issues with microsoft outlook. one of the astronauts named a moon crater after his late wife. a jar of nutella just flew by. they make 67 memes because they’re big nerds with huge hearts who say that we look beautiful from there. they call dibs on sleeping arrangements and the mission specialist likes sleeping like a bat. the pilot’s daughter shows her dad off on her social media.

dunno just sometimes helps to think that we can do things like that.
