ever since his grandparents, the frost family have had a close connection with biotech. his grandparents were investors to the, and his parents were scientists for them. so for jeremy, he had a clear direction about where he wanted to go. he was already interested in getting a medical degree. why not walk towards the path where he would practically be guaranteed success? his parents had been excited to hear about how his decision, and they even began teaching him things here and there. but he never understood why they pushed him towards virology specifically, nor why they taught him how to fire and reload a gun. but he ignored the red flags because, well, it's his family. and they've never done anything to prove to be untrustworthy in his opinion. sure they had their quirks. like his parents and grandparents graduation gift to him being a hypo gun attachment as his graduation present, but he decided that they were simply quirky and enthusiastic. in his college years, he proved to be a medical genius. especially in the virology field. which was why he felt grateful for his parents pushing him in that direction, unaware that they did so for selfish circumstances. when he applied for biotech, they only had one position open. and they said it was a on field operative. he didn't really understand what that meant, but he accepted it. he quickly realized that he was basically on a team with a group of mercenaries, and his job? to study any "unknown" virus and to help cover up any incriminating evidence. something that was illegal, and something that didn't set right with him. and when he saw one of his team members kill a scientist who quit biotech? he knew that he needed to get out. and he knew his parents couldn't know about it. because suddenly all those "quirks" made sense. and jeremy decided to leave mid mission.

almost immediately after, he was being hunted by his former teammates though. however, the outbreak hit it's peak and jeremy wasn't that high of a priority when people were fighting for their lives. jeremy himself was included though. he was trying to make his way through mistwood, but it became apparent that the virus was going to spread regardless of any defensive measures. and jeremy decided that he would face this head on. so grabbing his hypo gun, he went to the streets and collected samples before locking himself into an abandoned lab. he was determined to build a cure and attempt to stop this virus, to undo the work that his parents and grandparents did at the expense of the world. he wasn't sure if they were alive, and he didn't care. but the lab he was in wasn't built with maximum securty, and pretty soon? the undead came knocking. gathering his notes, jeremy fled and ran. attempting to find any place that looked safe. and when he saw the metrocenter? he didn't even think about it, he just booked it.

inside the mall, jeremy has decided it's probably best to keep a good majority of his past a secret. instead simply being a medic, he did attempt to get samples at times to study the virus and make sure it wasn't evolving by accompanying the scavengers and hunter parties from time to time. although he was very careful to not get caught since he wasn't sure how people would react to such a thing.
