having to sign up for continued health insurance every year and if it changes having to then search a website to see if my existing medical practitioners are still covered is so dumb. also dumb are co-pays. like i already pay. you take it out of my paycheck every time. why am i paying more at point of service. also extremely dumb is this healthcare system in its entirety. like wdym if i lose my fucking job i lose all my existing healthcare and have to try and hunt down something that will cost me a shit load of money and probably not cover anything anyway so i might just have to go without healthcare altogether (unless i pay entirely out-of-pocket)

building trust's a lot like interacting with a stray cat, you can do everything right but its still up to the other person to not trust you right away and that doesn't make the cat a cunt. with enough patience and positive reinforcement even scared, angry and violent animals can trust you. or they can choose not to. and that doesn't make the cat a cunt. there isn't a perfect combination of actions you can universally implement to make them your friend as fast as possible. its about being present, reading signals, and reacting accordingly. otherwise you are a cunt.

thinking i'm gonna take a break from writing for a week or two and then tonight i fucking started on something new
there will never be anything as funny as the mutual disbelief between long form and short form fic writers about each other's style.
short form writers look at people writing 100k+ fics as though this is some sort of talent given as part of a fae bargain, that the commitment required shows some sort of ungodly mental fortitude.
meanwhile long form writers look at people writing 1000 word one shots like god I would cut off my left nipple to be able to say anything concisely. i would love to play with multiple ideas. free me from the shackles of this child I have birthed. i love them but I now must take them to t-ball and doctor's appointments and they're going to destroy everything I own.
At the risk of sounding anti-intellectual, I think that college should be free and also not a requirement for employment outside of highly specialized career fields
At the risk of sounding like an effete intellectual, I do actually think you should be allowed to just take college courses indefinitely
technically you can, if you don't care about degrees.
Free Harvard courses. Free Courses from Stanford. Free Courses from MIT. Free courses from Yale. Free courses from Princeton.
Free courses on Coursera.
Free Courses on EDx Free Courses on Alison
For paid, there's The Great Courses+/Wonderium. 20$ a month for unlimited courses.
When searching, the phrases you're looking for are Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs), or you can do a general search of say, "free online college courses." Oh, and so you don't get surprised like I did, have an avoid: Hillsdale College is a conservative Christian site and not a valid MOOC place. Sign up with them and you will get things like THIS IS WHY THE LEFT IS TURNING YOUR KIDS TRANS AND GAY in your inbox.
@yourunderwaterskies I wanted to say thank you so much for adding these links, seriously, they've been life-changingly helpful to me-

I feel like a lot of people dont pick up on that: when youre texting with someone and they ask you a question theyre probably very much aware that they can simply google it. The reason theyre asking you instead is because they like talking with you and want you to explain it instead
