Got my first “Alastor’s asexual” comment.

No shit Sherlock. News flash I’m asexual too. But that doesn’t stop me from wanting him to rail me until I scream.

Besides I hc him as gray-ace (like me) meaning he can feel sexual attraction occasionally. I always write him as reader-sexual.

This! Asexuality is such a broad spectrum, and Alastor can fit in anywhere in it. Besides, he's a fictional character and many people, such as myself, use him as a way to explore their own sexually.

As someone who grew up in a very homophobic environment, I didn't know that much about LGBTQ+ things. For years I thought there was something wrong with me until I started watching Hazbin Hotel and Alastor caught my attention. Researching more about what asexuality is, made me realize that that's who I am, and since then, I've learned to love myself more and accepted myself as I am. And for someone who is severely depressed as I was at that time, it definitely helped me to get better.

I have thoughts on Alastor’s death.

I’m wholly unconvinced he was mistaken for a deer. I just think it’s too specific for the characters to know that, given the fact that yk, HE DIED. So it’s not like Alastor could ask too many questions about it lmfao.

But it seems like Alastor was getting quite frantic in his final days… Someone who is going cannibal, appropriating Black spirituality and summoning spirits so he can have “fun” when he’s dead is not a person that’s firing on all cylinders. And it’s especially not the behaviour of the kind of person who is so sharp that they charm their way out of the restrictions of segregation.

He was clearly thinking about death and worried about what would happen to him. He was brooding about HELL. Deeply. And enough that he got everything set up to try and summon help from the other side. Who just randomly decides to beg a demon to give them power in the afterlife??? On a Tuesday in your twenties… (that flowed nicely but he could’ve been older)

At the same time, he obviously wasn’t expecting to die very soon/didn’t have people directly coming after him, because otherwise he would’ve spent his last night partying. He would’ve said fuck the body, I won’t be here to face the consequences of it getting found.

I think it’s possible he was paranoid people were onto him. And that’s why he moved out to a shack in the sticks, instead of thriving in the city like we’d expect from the start of his story. Maybe someone was really onto him, and his killing spree was a whisper in the streets, much like his demon origins are in Hell.

Because the night before, he seemed pretty happy to sit around with corpses and skeletons piling up all over. Suddenly, he just has to do housekeeping? And it was wild that he was living with the stench of death and the grime and the bacteria and all. That seems so different from the polished, dapper party boy from the start of the story.

I think Alastor was losing it; on top of his racial anxieties, maybe all the death and isolation was getting to him at the end. Or maybe someone said something to him that sent him into a spiral. I think Alastor’s paranoid feeling translated into his prey demon form.

I wanna talk about this part of hazbin hotel specifically:

“You fucking creep!”

That is extremely emotionally charged dialogue. Because, sure, Vox is often called manipulative, an asshole, a liar etc. But a “fucking creep”? From Alastor of all characters? That says something about Vox and his behaviour.

Whilst we are given more tame images like Vox taking Alastor on dates that he only seems annoyed with, or their backstory in which Alastor genuinely laughs when Vox tries to imitate him

We also have Alastor being forced into a fucking cuck chair against his will.

(and can i just say that his clothes being specifically thrown all around alastor is really telling about how that scene went down, and it is not pleasant to think about)

We have Vox revealing that Alastor doesn’t have a tail.

But how does Vox know this? Did he confirm it with his bare hands? Because if yes, that is absolutely grounds to call him a fucking creep, especially from Alastor, a character who literally cannot cover up the fact he hates being touched by Vox.

(which you can see in the backstory scene: the radio static/screeching quietly in the background when Vox touches Alastor’s shoulders)

And look here:

I can’t help but see the obvious difference between their expressions. Alastor does smile as always but where Vox looks like he is genuinely enjoying forcing himself into Alastor’s personal space, Alastor looks. Uncomfortable. Hostile. Repulsed, even.

He turns away. He can’t stand it.

We know that he is uncomfortable, but really stop to think about how this goes beyond a character’s touch-aversion.

Vox is genuinely inappropriate towards Alastor, beyond just a sexual interest or obsession he acts like a sex pest which honestly has got to feel horrible from Alastor’s end. Imagine you reject someone (i’ll be it in the most humiliating way possible like jeez Al you couldn’t have let him down gently), and then said person develops a psycho-sexual relationship in his head with you to the point where the moment you are forced to be in proximity with him he straps you to a chair and forces you to watch him have sex and/or touches you and tells an entire population about your body.

I wouldn’t play-down Alastor’s ability to mask discomfort well, he absolutely can and does, but Vox isn’t just in love with Alastor he overtly sexualises him both publicly and psychologically.
