     …she worries as to what Lucretia might do if she lets her take control of her body. Labrys is… fully aware of how powerful she is. In a sense, Lucretia is if Labrys removed all of her limiters and fought at full strength with nothing whatsoever holding her back. A sort of ‘last resort’ she may turn to if fighting as she is doesn’t work.

     She keeps her held back now, but… what if there’s ever a situation where nothing else has worked, and her friends are at the mercies of a Shadow too overwhelming to fight as… Labrys? The thought absolutely terrifies her. She doesn’t want to lose more people who mean so much to her.

     At the same time, she doesn’t want to use Lucretia for petty things like clobbering someone who said nasty things to her friends. Wouldn’t that just be wasteful?

     “……”

     “You’re right. Sometimes words ain’t enough, and I gotta do a bit of pushin’ of my own to make a statement. I don’t like it, but if it can’t be helped, then I gotta take the step forward.      I don’t want to waste ya on takin’ out losers like that though… so if some dumb palooka starts tryin’ to bully da people I care about… I’ll gather my strength to stop ‘em where words fail.”

“Good; last thing we need is some jerk walkin’ all over ya and puttin’ the kibosh on both of us just ‘cause you didn’t want ta get yer hands dirty.” Lucretia wasn’t about to say it out loud, but she was proud of Labrys for remembering that, sometimes, fighting was necessary when words failed. Only just a little. A teensy bit. She just doesn’t want to hear Labrys wailing about how she messed up or didn’t protect her friends. Totally.

“But hey. Ya know, don’t feel shy about lettin’ me have a turn or two when it comes time to throw hands. I get bored easy, sittin’ in here an’ only gettin’ ta come out ta play after I promise not to cause trouble. Besides, have I ever caused any trouble ever since I stopped bein’ yer Shadow? I even saved our shared ass that one time and gave ya the steerin’ wheel right back!”

She really wants to fight something, at some point.

In her own, abrasive way, Lucretia cares about Labrys’s well-being, and not in a “gotta keep this girl from dying because if she does, I do too” kind of way. Having originally been her Shadow, after all, she knows exactly the kind of pain that the android’s been through, and even if she’s frequently aggressive, sharp-tongued, and violent, she still has a deep connection to Labrys - one might almost see her as the tomboyish twin sister who’s violently protective of her gentler, more sensitive twin.

She’s not quite at “jerkass with a heart of gold” status, yet, because this kindness pretty much only extends to Labrys and anyone she cares about (and only in the “if you die/get hurt, Labrys will be sad, so stop being so goddamn stupid” sense), but with enough time around her other half and her friends, she might just develop into a good (if likely still abrasive) person.

     Oof. She got scolded by her other half… the robot let out an internal wince at her words, having not realized that she wasn’t serious either. She probably was expecting her to play along… but even if she had she wonders if it would’ve ended in the same way.

     “W-well… maybe if they’re actually a,  y’know… a bad guy who deserves a bit of thrashin’…” The robot would reach over to rub at her own arm, looking away guiltily. “Just… um… just don’t actually hurt ‘em, y’know? Even if they might deserve it.”

“Maaan, c’mon. Youse know how dumb that is, right? I know you’ve got that whole deal about not likin’ hurtin’ folks, but I thought that the whole deal in the TV World taught youse that not everyone can be talked down.”

In her own way, this is Lucretia trying to help. While she might be more than the average Shadow, now, she still feels at least a little obligated to keep Labrys from getting herself hurt any more than she has to - at least, not in a way that’d be more damaging than the alternative. After all, if her hesitancy to act made a friend of hers get hurt or worse, well... That’d probably make things worse for the android.

“If youse ain’t got the guts ta protect yer friends an’ loved ones when the chips are down, next time, just give me the wheel, capisce?”

     “I…” Labrys suddenly froze as Lucretia’s words continued to linger in her mind. “T-to be honest, I wasn’t actually bein’ serious… I mean, yeah, if someone called my sis ugly I might be tempted, but… I dunno if I’d actually punch ‘em for real…”

“Man, lighten up. Ain’t it obvious I was kiddin’? Seriously, after everythin’ we went through in that whack-ass TV world, you think I don’t know you wouldn’t seriously do somethin’ like that?” Lucretia’s “voice” doesn’t sound so much annoyed or angry in Labrys’s mind so much as just disappointed Labrys didn’t play along. Of course, perhaps if she knew Labrys didn’t really mean any of that, she probably should’ve known Labrys wouldn’t have ever caught on that she was joking, too.

“Now, if you ever think someone needs a deckin’ but can’t pull the metaphorical trigger yourself, just lemme handle it for a bit. I promise I’ll even keep the axe holstered.”

     “Wha…!? Hey, that’s just too far even for me. I mean, rocket punchin’ people is one thing–even if I did, I’d use a limiter so I don’t actually injure ‘em–but givin’ them the axe is just kinda overkill!”

“Then don’t let Aigis stop ya; yer her big sis, ain’tcha? She can’t tell ya what to do. Go on an’ rocket punch anyone ya damn well feel like!” If she isn’t allowed to do violence, you can bet she’s going to try to tempt Labrys into doing it for her -
