Album Review
Sweet Talker by Jessie J
Release Date: October 13th 2014
This album is EVERYTHING. Out of the Bang Bang trio, Jessie J is the second, with only Nicki Minaj left, to release an album by the end of the year. Ariana was first and My Everything was God's record. Sweet Talker is just as high as Grande's album. Sweet Talker is such a step higher than Jessie's last album, Alive. She has her original image back and I think that will help her break through stateside. The album is strong throughout, kicking off with Ain't Been Done, cruising through the first 2 singles and the title track (highly addictive) and it climaxes early and that feeling ends later in the album. The middle section is normally where a lot of albums fail at but this album does it so well. Fire is one of my favourites and it is followed by a string of ballads and strong hits. Keep Us Together is my ultimate favourite in this album and it excites me every time I listen to it. The album loses momentum towards the album but it NEVER touches zero. I am utterly impressed with Jesse J's third output. Well done, girl!

Album Review
Bulletproof Picasso by Train
Release Date: September 16th 2014
Highly anticipated album by veteran band, Train, is finally out. I cannot be more excited about this, the album opener, in fact the opening line from Cadillac, Cadillac ("Hey, baby!") is so addictive. Bulletproof Picasso, the title track, is my favourite on the album and one of my favourite songs this month, to be honest. The records strongest section is the first half, for me, and then although the second half is just as strong, I feel slightly lost before it peaks towards the end. The ballads are reminiscent of their old material and I can't help but "metaphorically cry," (Or so I say.) Anyway, the record is an incredible triumph and a standout in this Fall rush of albums. It's such a feel-good album.
