I have not posted anything on this tumblr account in quite sometime, however this account has always been a place where i can go and vent my thoughts without fear of being judged. I feel that facebook and twitter are almost too public. I know that anyone can see what i post here but i just for some reason feel its safer posting stuff here. Anyway .. I have been thinking a lot about life, the world we live in and the way people are destroying this planet, society & life we live. The recent horrific events in Orlando have honestly shaken me to my core. My heart is heavy with regret, loss, sadness and anger these past few days and I need to vent.
On June 10th, Christina Grimmie was murdered after a show in Orlando, FOR WHAT?? What purpose did this serve? Who benefited from this? Why did her killer Kevin James Loibl do this? What gain did her receive? Why was any of this necessary. There are many questions racing through my brain any time I stop and think about what happened. Its really hard to process how and why this happened.
To travel from the other side of the state armed with two guns and a hunting knife, with the intent of murdering an innocent 22 year old women who has done nothing but help, care for and bless millions of people with her talents, who had such incredible success in her young life, who greeted her murderer with a hug just seconds before he shot her three times in the head. WHY WOULD SOMEONE DO THIS??? What is the motive? What is the reason? Its fucked. I just do not understand how anyone would deem this a justifiable act. It brings me great sadness that Chirstina Grimmie’s life ended too soon, way before her time. She could and would of had so many more incredible life experiences, would have touched and helped people all around the world with her music, could of went on to have a family and children etc etc. The possibilities in her life would of been endless because none of us know what eachother are capable of. This really saddens me. None of us in this life have the right to take the life of someone else. This should not have happened. How one man can walk into this private event after Christina Grimmies concert, pass through all security unnoticed and pull out a gun and shoot her at point blank range is a disgrace. HOW DID KEVIN JAMES LOIBL GET THESE WEAPONS?? WHY ARE GUNS SO EASILY AVAILABLE? WHY ARE WE POWERLESS TO THIS? WHY HAS NOBODY DONE ANYTHING BEFORE THIS HAPPENED?
Today June 12th, over 50 innocent people were killed and over 20 injured in a mass shooting in Orlando, just miles from where Christina Grimmie was murdered. One man walked into a gay nightclub and opened fire.. How the fuck does something like this happen? As both a musician, singer and member of the LGBT Community, these recent events are really hitting close to home. Why in this day and age do people still have such homophobic, idiotic, backward, disgusting views on members of the LGBT community. It is disgusting! Every man, woman and child should be able to live on this earth without fear of being gunned down for something that they have no choice in the matter of. Being gay is not a choice, being a murderer is. I honestly have no words to describe the grief i feel for those murdered, their families, loved ones, injured etc. The pain must be unbearable.
It is time for CHANGE!! Strict gun laws need to be introduced across the world. People like Donald Trump who so outwardly speak about legalizing the use and possession of firearms need to seriously think about the ramifications of such decisions if they were made. More guns doesn’t solve gun problems, it just makes everything worse. People need to be educated. People need to realise that unless change is made its going to be too late and next thing you know it will be you with a bullet in your heart or a loved one and nobody wants that.
I don’t really know what else to say except tell those you love how you feel, be nice to people, care for each other and life your life like its your last day on earth because you never know when it will be. In this scary world we live in we need to stick together, unite and demand a change.
