Had the great pleasure of photographing Fishbone at their live show in Tokyo at Liquid Room. To say they were a major influence on my musical upbringing would be an understatement. They’re living proof that anything is possible, and to appreciate the hard work that goes into every aspect of their craft is something to behold. I decided to make these photos more vibrant than usual because that was the rawness they showcased.
This was an incredible opportunity, and I’ll be forever grateful towards their manager, James, and to the band broke so many barriers, Fishbone.
Steve and Craig of the Spirit Hound Distillers, in Colorado.
Everyone was nice, and extremely photogenic in this bar/distillery. Everything they use is local, and you can feel their passion for what they do. After reading some of the AL’s book I just became inspired to look at portraits a different way. It was a beautiful time, and I wish Spirited Hound continued success.

Useless ID at their Tokyo show.
Much respect to this band, and here are a few gems from the show. It was an honor to photograph them, and looking forward to next time.
Till next time.

Strung Out doing their thing at ACB Hall in Shinjuku. This was beyond epic for me, and couldn’t be happier getting this gig. Feel extremely honored and happy I was able to give something back to a band that’s been part of my life for so long.

Kaori + Phillip: Love
Just several shots that I’m really proud of that I recently finished post editing. Love is an amazing thing to celebrate, and I’m happy that I was able to capture the special moments for these two on their wedding day.
A very special thank you to Arisa!

Katelyn Slyer
A person that has inspired me countless times, and that has given so much good advice over the years. This Aussie is a force behind the lens that shows the depth of truth/passion of the people she photographs. It was an honor to finally meet her face to face.
Interview coming soon in RUS MAG issue 4.
Be sure to checkout her amazing work on IG: @slyer83 and @katelyn_slyer_photos

Would like to take this time to say how extremely influential, and inspiring, Toshi’s story is. From zero to something is no easy task and he was able to do that while living abroad. Looking forward to sharing this humble individual’s wise words with the rest of you in the near future.
Also, a very special shoutout to Mr. Brother’s Cut Club for letting me conduct my work at their parlor in Naka-Meguro.

20 Amazing Years... and hopefully 20 more!!!
Here are several highlights from NFG’s (New Found Glory) show in Tokyo. Thank you to NFG for being so important to me during high school, their management at Hopeless Records, Masa from Kick Rock Invasion, and Caroline Jenson!!

It’s been so long since I’ve taken their photos, but whenever I can it brings me back to being grateful for these individuals I call family.

Wanna take a min. to thank @teendaze, and his management, for giving me this opportunity. With my job it’s hard to have a moment with the artist, and have a good chat. I was supremely surprised that I was able to not only sit, but see how Jamison’s mind works, how he sees music, and his influences.
If you asked me 12-13yrs. ago if I thought that I’d get the chance to be on this journey I would’ve thought you were crazy, but things have a way of coming around when you can’t see the end result.
Again, thank you for Teen Daze and his management. Also, to one of my good friends, Ryan, for introducing me to this artist many years ago.
See you at the next show!

“Hair is crucial for a woman."? This is just bullshit! Well!! I just said good bye all my beautiful hair today. I got breast cancer and have surgery end of this month. Feel so comfotable. I feel so much better than "wasted time" in last year even if I got cancer. I just want to tell all my true friends, Please take care of yourself. If you got tired just go to sleep. If you find something problem with your health small or big, just go to see the doctor as soon as possible. If you feel depressed just do shut all SNS down for a while. Then try to get relax! Sickness is everywhere. I might go to shoot for Earthrot and Fleshgod Apocalypse on Wednesday!
