Tiny Planets - The now closed down Dream Lodge Motel in Greenville, TX
Vivian Maier Response
It’s strange to me that this woman, Vivian, could go for her entire artistic career without showing her work to anybody. Especially considering the sheer amount of photos she had taken, including thousands upon thousands, as explained by the narrator in the documentary, it’s odd that she was so secretive about it. After completion of the documentary, I would assume that this was largely due to her mental state, as it seemed that she suffered from some form of mental illness through most of her life.
Her work itself is phenomenal. One of my favorites that was shown in this documentary was her self portrait with the mirrors.
As well, the other portraits she had taken of people on the streets is some of her best work that I have seen, in my own opinion.
