This is a brew that’s special to us, “The Professor” IPA, dedicated to our first regular Erle, is a crowd favorite here at Sterling Pig and won’t be on for much longer. Clocking in at 7% ABV this unfiltered IPA is a smooth blend of all of our favorite hops from the Pacific Northwest (Amarillo, Cascade, and Simcoe). The “Whiskey Wake up” Is a collaboration done with Burlap and Bean Roast House (Media, PA) and Homebrewing group Band of Media Brewers (B.O.M.B, Media, PA). This Coffee aged dark English Ale is a spin-off of our “Manchester Mild” (Dark English Ale) and gives you all the warm, roasty, deliciousness you look for in a beer of this style. The man behind the brew.
Meet the brewer, Brian McConnell.
Brian McConnell has been a professional brewer for more than 14 years. His beer philosophy centers on using the finest high-quality ingredients to create a balanced, flavorful product.He began his brewing career with the well-known John Harvard’s Brew House and most recently was the brewmaster at Rock Bottom Brewery in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania. Over the course of his career, Brian has been responsible for myriad accolades, including Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals at the Great American Beer Festival in Denver, Colorado and the Real Ale Festival in Chicago. He has also been a part of multiple teams receiving the coveted Large Brewpub of the Year Award from the Great American Beer Festival. Brian graduated from the College of William and Mary with a BA in Government and has taken sensory courses from the Siebel Institute of Technology. He resides in Media with his photographer wife of 11 years, his three energetic boys and their dog.

A look inside the beer...
Big Gunz IPA is only one of the double IPA’s we brew here at Sterling Pig. Clocking in at 8% ABV this beverage is one to be reckoned with. A crowd favorite, the Big Gunz is hopped with only the best. A mixture of Columbus, Equinox, Centennial, Simcoe and Citra hops gives this DIPA a floral bouquet and a well balanced bitterness that makes it dangerously drinkable.
