the concept of steve harrington learning hes bisexual in season 4 after robin points out that hes awful at keeping women in family video & so he considers queerness & instead of stancy resurgence he falls in love slowly with the idea of jonathan byers by proxy to nancy’s affection for him & so by s5 the tension isnt jonathan & steve r fighting for nancy but steve is overcompensating by devolving into old ways ie masculine straight man because he doesnt want to confront what he feels for jonathan now that hes actually here & not an abstract concept & also he still doesnt get that he might be bisexual. hes very confused & also he has a job so he doesnt really have time to deal with all that rn
