Because the monsters
were inside my head.
I fear no monsters,
for no monsters I see.
Because all this time
the monster has been me.

Slow progress is still progress
“You will have days where you feel better, and you will have days where you want to die. Both are okay. There is no magical cure. You just need to close your eyes, and trust that the waves will pass, and soon you’ll be able to breathe again.”

“Having a soft heart in a cruel world is courage, not weakness”

“Don’t get stuck. Move, travel, take a class, take a risk. There is a season for wildness and a season for settledness, and this is neither. This season is about becoming. Don’t lose yourself at happy hour, but don’t lose yourself on the corporate ladder either. Stop every once in a while and go out to coffee or climb in bed with your journal. Now is your time. Walk closely with people you love. Don’t get stuck in the past, and don’t try to fast-forward yourself into a future you haven’t yet earned. Give today all the love and intensity and courage you can, and keep travelling honestly along life’s path.”

Sometimes recovery is waking up early to write in coffee shops and practicing yoga and eating lots of fruit and chocolate and sometimes it’s staying in bed all day and hiding from the world until you can stop crying. All of this is okay. What’s important is that you take care of yourself no matter what kind of day you’re having.
It’s days like these I realise how happy I am that I chose to stay alive

So I said that I was going to be posting more things about mental health and being open and honest so yeah… I understand it might lost me some followers or people who only follow me for my attempt at writing but here goes anyway x
TW: miscarriage… I know I’ve touched on this before but it’s really something I’ve struggling with at the moment. Every where I look on social media, at my little boy’s school and just out and about, it feels like the whole world is pregnant or just had a small baby. All I can say is that I am always so so happy for everyone who is expecting or welcomed a bundle of joy; trust me I really am especially because I know that for someone people they’ve suffered miscarriage, stillbirths, infertility etc. So I need to make this point before anyone comes for me. I’ve had two miscarriages; one before Jacob and one after. The first one was horrible but the second one was horrific. It was so traumatic because the baby (I can’t call it a foetus because at 10 weeks it was my baby) literally fell out when I went to the toilet and I was bathing an almost three year old Jacob. I have panic attacks whenever i’m my period and whenever I go to the toilet I think I can feel it coming out again. Anyway since then I was diagnosed with a health condition whereby I’ve been told if I have another baby the medication I take would cause spina bifida or other malformation in the baby, but if I stopped the medication then I would most likely go blind during the pregnancy. Anyway, I just find myself wishing every day for another baby. I feel guilty on Jacob for not having a sibling. I feel guilty on my husband for not being able to give him another child. I feel like I want to have the opportunity to have the normal birth that I didn’t get with Jacob and to not get PPD and psychosis like I did with Jacob. I find myself feeling physically sick with upset when I see pregnant people or small babies. I literally can’t even look at pregnant people and I’ve even had to try and avoid talking to people who are pregnant at school or online or just out in general because I get so overwhelmed and sad. Again let me say I am always so happy for these people, and I don’t feel jealousy or malice towards them. I just feel overwhelming sadness. I don’t really like to say I have pregnancy/baby envy because I feel like that almost says that when you’re envious you wish bad on people but the truth is I don’t. I’m the sort of person who loves to bask in other people’s joy with them and set my own issues and feelings aside but for some reason with this I just can’t.
