"Advanced knitting techniques" AKA "Can you count?" (Apparently: NO)
Third attempt will happen tomorrow and the markers are going to be permanent now, not just for casting, 🙃
I tried to use some random acrylic yarn I had to check if I liked a pattern for a shawl and omg I hate this yarn so much, I now remember why I had it laying around, it's horribleeeee.
I have another yarn that I can use to check but the thread is thicker, so it won't look exactly the same. It's also acrylic but this one wasn't a pain to work with, as far as I remember.
I probably should go buy some yarn for one I want to check patterns.
omgomgomg
I FINALLY MANAGED TO BUY THIS ONE
It's always out of stock when I check and now it'll be with me in 2-5 days, ToT
I need to finish one of the projects that I have on my scroll frames, but can't wait to start working on it.
Even though I have like six started projects and I should finish all of them before even thinking about this one.
what is your LEAST favorite stitch?
I don't like counted work at fucking all. So: the cross stitch.
reading this as someone who does cross stitch but is scared of the other kinds of embroidery is like overhearing an incredibly tall and buff person say they have beef with Mr. Tom, the kitten that chills at the bookstore
FUCK Mr. Tom and his stupid little fluffy tail ok. And his little charted designs.
Okay, but this neglects the true villain of embroidery stitches: the French knot
Don't you dare malign my girl again
Ok the french knot is very useful but it is a BITCH to do it consistently
We talk about how this website’s hate mail game is insane, but this might just be a new level
"skill issue" made entirely from French knots is a next level roast. no coming back from that one. damn
Tbh honest, French knots are not THAT hard. You know what's the true evil? Metallics.
I only used them once I have 0 plans on doing that again.
Day 85 been a while since I worked on this but my fingers have been acting up lately started on the green though today
Haha! It's finished!
Lille's Loom Quest Project 1 out of 3 is done!
I really enjoyed this kit. Turns out I like blackwork more than boring old cross stitch. Also the backstitching (well double running stitch)! Haven't really had much of that in the cross stitch projects I have done so far and boy it sure does make a lot of difference huh.
Now it gets to go in the pile of finished things that need to be made into wall decor. Which is a future Lille problem. Future Lille is going to find a frame and some way to get this on a wall i am sure of it.
It's so pretty . . . But I know better.
Other rows are complete, making a total pf 229500 crosses, 86,44%, no new colors finished since the last post.
90% done
75% done!
Progress so far after spending the weekend stitching. I'll be hiding this in a drawer until next weekend so I don't feel the temptation to pick it up again instead of doing all the things I actually should do.
It's so tempting to keep going, just under 2800 full stitches + backstitch left to do.
If I stitch 100-200 stitches per day, I may be able to finish it this year.
And Hermitcraft is starting again this weekend, so maybe it's going to more than 200 stitches/day this week, lol
Nearly a year of work completed! When I don’t write, I stitch!
All patterns from fancyfoxglove on Etsy. I love these patterns.
Almost finished, just have to do all the detail work. Final backstitching and details are my favourite part of an embroidery because it pulls a whole picture together.
Final stitching session for The Dream. I'll still work on it, but it won't be my main for September. I'm going to try to dedicate this month to some other projects that I haven't touched in months.
Dragon Age: The Veilguard is coming out at the end of October and I probably won't stitch that much during November and December, so I want to work on some other projectd and catch up with a blackwork SAL.
Update on my progess of MIYAStitch's The Dream. 40% done and 16.015 stitches left!
My current plan is to finish the door, work on the door's backstitch and then finish the landscape and the girl.
