A survivor during a zombie apocalypse. Morgan was bitten, yet rather than turning into the undead, something was in his favor. He had an immunity to the infection.
He spent weeks alone after getting turned away from his community after getting bitten, even though he was not changing. They gave him the mercy and let him leave.
A few weeks into solo traveling (and poorly doing so) he was discovered by soldiers who belonged to a near by hospital turned compound.
The compound was dedicated to research, and finding a man who had been bitten and still alive meant he as the rarest and shiniest experiment. He was the medical miracle they had been searching for.
Regardless that he was a prisoner, at first it wasn't the worst. They took blood and biopsies, but over all very professional. It didn't take long for things to get worse. Small biopsies turned into full on experiments seeing how his body would react to intense trauma.
Even though he still had a heartbeat and was still fully human, his body responded a lot quicker. The infection had something to do with mutation and proteins within the body. He healed faster (even if it wasn't perfect.)
Soon the compound's research team began to dissect him and found out the infection also impacted stem cells. No matter what they did he would not die.
When this became boring for the researchers worse began to take place. Sick, twisted sadism became the forefront of their experiments and their past time activities.
Due to this constant torture for months on end, Morgan's mind began to slip. He was unable to sleep, complacent, and eventually in a full delusional state. In this time he became involuntary mute.
His mind wondered far, dissociating from the long abuse and it lingered on a light within the hospital room he had been prisoner of for months. His was his life line as he waited for a god to come save him from this suffering.
The researchers no longer cared to clean up the room. Eventually he was only there for their past time activities.
Months into this, the compound out had a break in the security. Morgan had not moved from his bed in weeks and hearing the gun fire did not seem to make a difference. This is where Tobias Foss enters, as he comes into the room to escape the over consuming hoard that had rushed the staircase to the ICU floor turned research floor. Morgan sees him and believes that this man is a messiah come to rescue him. This would be true in many ways.
Though uncertain, Morgan offers himself to the man believing if he shows he's available and the man is bad, it wouldn't be so awful and on the other side he was offering the only thing he had to give to his new god. The man refused his advances which shifted something in the younger man's frail mind. Someone who didn't come to hurt him. A true savior.
Morgan and Tobias escape the compound eventually and it becomes Tobias's life mission to keep Morgan as safe as possible.
A slow burn, eventually Morgan becomes himself more and more. Soon he's speaking again, smiling, talking about life and eventually kissing Tobias for the first time.
(Things get better over time and they get to be happy together 🥺 no frets it’s not all awful!)
