“Yeah.” His words dug at her deeper than she let on, she couldn’t let her brother see her hurt- I don’t need protecting- Alecto reminded herself of the words she’s said just a few moments. “Yeah, Amy. Me too.”
“I just wanna be kids again..” Amycus said, feeling a tear drip down his cheek. “It’s not fair.”
Alecto hated seeing her brother hurt and it tore her apart knowing that she was the reason. "I know. I know it's not fair but-" she took a deep breath, she didn't know what to tell him. "But as long as we stick together, nothing can hurt us."
“Amy..”
“I’m sorry.”
“I miss when it was just.. Y’know. Amycus and Alecto against the world.. Shit, I’m sorry, ‘Lecto..”

“Amy...” We can protect each other, the words that she should have said echoed in her mind but that seething, stubborn part of her kept her silent. “I don’t need protection.”

Alecto frowned at him, her expression turning softer quickly. “Just- Just promise me that... You won’t try and deal with this stuff on your own again. That’s what I’m here for.”
