I enjoy when I open up about needing therapy (first session scheduled for tomorrow morning, gag) and the buzz asks and I tell them straight up that I'm a bad person and my trauma is making a worse person (not an excuse, I'm just aware of how it impacts my behavior) and like.. I hate being homesick, because I'm not normal, I don't feel anything normally. It's an ache in my bones every year. As soon as April 7th hits, my brain is instantly brought back home, and it's all I can do not to buy the the one -way train ticket and just...

It's all I can think about; fingers ripping into my arms, drawing out bloodand hunks of skin at the thought of hay.

What I wouldn't give to be outside right now, laying on a haybale as I look up at the stars, smoking a cigarette.

God, I miss the stars, I miss sipping coffee and feeding the chickens.

I want to puke just thinking about walking through the woods, waking up early to watch horses and their riders trot down my road every Sunday.

I'd give anything to be home, to get rid of the sick knot inn my stomach, like I'm about to puke.

Because I might.

I miss it all so badly, my heart hurts, my skin aches to be peeled off, so I can be seen, so people can see the sky for just one moment on my skin, so they can touch me and feel the gentle stab of hay through a cotton shirt worn thin from work.

I yearn for home, I yearn for someone to see my smile, for me to see that necklace that stands out, and suddenly we're both struck, remembering each other from the dollar general and chatting away like old friends.

Home is so far away and I hate it.

Work

I love being evil at work and everyone loves me. I do my job correctly, efficiently and am very helpful, so when a coworker who is on the lower rung of our hierarchy, despite being there longer, talks shit and lies about me, my informants bring me the name, time, place and word for word what happens. i think it's beautiful that cats eat you if you die in your apartment and nobody finds you for a while. i don't know why it's used as anti-kitty cat propaganda as if eating you means they don't love u. if i died and no one found me for a while i would want my kitty cat to eat me bc i love her so much and i don't want her to starve. it's not her fault i'm too dead to give her her fancy feasts. she's going thru something scary ok. i don't know a single cat owner who doesn't feel the same way

I think the queercoded villainy of The Pink Opaque has been underdiscussed (<- surprising no one I'm sure, given My Deal). Marco and Polo have breasts and skirts and beards and receding hairlines. Isabel gets her heart ripped out when she tries to walk up to Tara (the queercoded hero. the object of crush and identification for Maddy, and a key fantasy object enabling the fragile proto-lesbian intimacy that Owen gets to experience in moments like the marker tattoo scene). But Tara turns around, revealed to be Marco or Polo in disguise (the monstrousness of the queer body. the monstrousness of Owen daring to even semi-consciously entertain that lesbian identification)

We can look at The Pink Opaque and ask things like, where does a liberatory escapism cross over into a substitute for having a real life, is the show Good or Cringe, etc. But also: to what extent are Owen and Maddy seeing themselves as the heroes, vs to what extent are they internalizing that they're the monsters?

My team

I have a larger team for actual game development and a personal team of handpicked artists, because i’m very autistic and need this to be perfect. I have to let an artist go, so I call my pookie (head of hr) she hops on and drafts the email, I tell her she can get a few minutes with any hole as payment (we joke like this freakquently. She pmo jokingly, I update the work board with “Holes closed to head of HR”
