The Tuvans are a Turkic ethnic group living in southern Siberia.
Alongside Tibetan Buddhism, Tuvans practice a traditional form of Tengrism - a religion based in shamanism, animism, and ancestor worship. In Tengriism, the meaning of life is seen as living in harmony with the surrounding world. They believe there is no “one true religion” as humanity has not reached full enlightenment yet. That all humans are weak, and therefore shortcomings should be tolerated

If the captions said this was a small tribe in Eastern Wyoming, or something, I'd have accepted that. The similarities to American tribes is striking.
absolutely obsessed with the way Fahrenheit is legitimately a superior temperature measurements for day to day life than celsius (more precise, accessible, and understandable) but ppl refuse to admit to it bc they’re so caught up with the “silly americans refuse to convert to metric” gag
fun little info graph I found
[id: three identical number lines with 0 at one and and 100 at the other, labelled “Fahrenheit” “Celsius” and “Kelvin”. The ends are labelled, respectively:
Fahrenheit: Really cold outside - Really hot outside Celsius: Fairly cold outside - Dead Kelvin: Dead - Dead]
OP, it's only more useful for Americans because you're not regularly boiling water.
0° Celsius gets you ice. 100° Celsius gets you tea.
It's a very simple system.
Genuinely fascinated by this world in which Americans don’t boil water on a regular basis and a thermometer is necessary to know whether water is frozen or boiling.
Look people on both sides of the argument both have scientific research to back themselves up. But if it turns out masks are really effective it didn't harm you to wear them. If I find out masks did fuck all I won't be upset because in the moment I was doing the right thing and i thought I was protecting people. This is better than the reverse of not wearing one then finding out it was important. I would wear a mask even if it wasn't the governmental rule because I don't want to spread shit.
This is the equivalent to carrying a lucky rabbit’s foot in your pocket just in case it does happen to magically bring you luck.
Wear magical underwear on your face just in case it does suddenly defy the physics of its original intended use and eventually start to flatten the curve of positive cases. It could start working at any time now. You just have to believe it will work.
Well, unless you were one of these people who can’t control themselves from sneezing and talking directly into someone else’s face.
Who needs double-blind studies when you have an armchair?
Imagine only believing recent studies rushed to the forefront immediately after politicians decided on their placebo of choice for a pandemic they were not really equipped to handle. Never mind the decades of conventional medical knowledge and studies which made up the standard of our medical understanding of how masks work and don’t work. it was only after Dr. Fauci, Dr. Redfield, and the US Surgeon General Jerome Adams all flipped on their warnings like a bunch of criminal stooges that suddenly the new studies became the ‘consensus’ prevailing opinion, even though secretly politicians know it’s political theater.
But what do I know? I guess because I have not read THE DOUBLE-BLIND STUDIES you claim to religiously adhere to like a dull lemming, that means I’m just armchair quarterbacking? Right? Just because I’m not a working Scientist™, like this guy, I must just be making up my own facts?
Well, maybe so. Then again, I do have quite a bit of evidence on the topic. And thanks to you, I finally have a good reason to share my links like I’ve been asked to for months.

I apologize in advance for an repeated articles, missing information, bad links, or typos.
It’s 2am so I’m not reading through everything here but I did skim 3 of the sources and they were all shit.
1. The study is measuring the rates of infection in the healthcare workers, not how many people they were infecting. The whole point of wearing a mask right now is so you don’t spread the virus if you unknowingly have it, not to protect you.
Also the study found that workers wearing medical masks had higher rates of infection than those wearing N64 masks, but the mask less control group had a higher rate than both of them.
4. This is talking about how masks might be unnecessary in an operating theatre with forced ventilation (something that was being installed in new theatres at the time). It looked at the airflow and found that most of the particles from the surgeons mouth were flowing away from the patient, so it’s suggesting masks may be an unnecessary cost. It’s not saying anything about masks worn outside of an operating theatre with a specialised ventilation system.
7. Again, this study is looking at the infection rates in the workers wearing the masks. It talks about how moisture retention and reuse makes cloth masks less effective than medical masks at protecting health care workers from infection. It’s cautioning about their use in high risk situations for the protection of healthcare workers. Nothing about how effective they are in reducing the transmission from the person wearing them.
It’s a long list of links and yeah I only read three, but all of them were irrelevent and show you clearly don’t understand why you’re even meant to wearing a mask at the moment, so forgive me for completely ignoring anything you say about it from now on.

Not once did I offer up all of these articles as evidence to discredit the bogus contemporary claim that masks somehow prevent the spread of the virus (there is no evidence that they do). I merely shared every link I have come across on the efficacy of masks in my own personal exploration on the topic.
My first link, for example, does in fact show that regular surgical masks (which the vast majority of people wear or worse with cloth masks, gaiters, or face-shields) performed poorly compared to N95 respirators. This was in reference just to contraction performance of different masks back in 2011. It in no way was to prove or disprove that either kind of masks prevent further spread by non-professional civilians. And we all know by now, the only positive attribute of any mask is to prevent direct transfer of saliva from one person to another in close proximity. This can also be achieved simply by not coughing, sneezing, or talking directly into someone else’s general vicinity. It in no way prevents all transfer of viruses from one infected individual to another as the organic chemist explains in this piece. Virus particles can hitchhike in and out of non-N95 respirators as molecules on microscopic particles all over an infected person’s body within a given environment—especially indoors. To assume that a virus only spreads through saliva transfer is pure ignorance.
This is also why the fourth article is fascinating. Because you do have many of the so-called Science™ experts claiming that masks are mandatory, even outdoors. The fact that viruses are less stable and in turn far less likely to spread to others outdoors hasn’t stopped many of the pro-mask cult to wear them outdoors or in their automobiles while alone.
The seventh article you mentioned is also interesting because most average citizens do not live their normal lives in an operating theater nor can they afford to constantly discard used masks like professionals in most sterile environments. They must constantly use the same old cloth masks over and over, sometimes for multiple days without washing. This is a consideration of the efficacy of masks that you MUST take into account. But unfortunately, slogans like “mask up” is merely generic and generally meaningless for the population at large. There is not precautions and specific instructions available to the public in order to enforce proper usage for tens of millions of people. So instead, they are shooting in the dark to hope gullible people, like you, wear (any) masks as a type of placebo to psychologically keep them aware of the virus and feel safe when out in public.
So, when reading all of these multiple studies and opinions on these studies you start to gain a more broad, educated opinion on the efficacy of masks for the general public. It turns out they are actually relevant articles and that you are just a really credulous sucker. If you were not so busy trying confirm your bias by poorly refuting them, you would have gained that same appreciation from all of these sources.
Keep reading, dummy.

Any info on those racks? Thx.
I’m so tired of every show that takes place in the past (wild west, medieval, pirates etc) ALWAYS having so much sexual violence towards women like writers can cry “oh it’s realism” all you want but it’s very transparent how realism only applies when you want to hurt women on screen. If we’re talking staying realistic, why doesn’t everyone have brown teeth? Or bad skin? Or dying of dysentery? Just admit y'all want an excuse to brutalize women on screen lol
This pisses me off so much. A lot of the time if you mention realism would also involve women having unshaved legs or pits, or bushy eyebrows, or syphilis, the answer is often “well that’s gross, no one wants to read about/see that” and like…. If you think that women being ugly is grotesque, but brutal depictions of rape aren’t, then I don’t really know what to say to you other than stay the fuck away from me.
To add to this: The pirate captains had personal codes (rules) about what was allowed on the ship, and some of them were very clear on the subject of sexual violence
“ IX. If at any time you meet with a prudent Woman, that Man that offers to meddle with her, without her Consent, shall suffer present Death. “ -From the code of Captain John Phillips
“ 9th: If any p[er]son or p[er]sons shall go on board of a Prize and meet with any Gentlewoman or Lady of Honour and should force them against their will to lie with them shall suffer death. “ -From the code of the company of Thomas Anstis
Or in other words, sexual violence against women was recognised as a crime punishable by death on actual pirate ships, don’t let anybody tell you it’s necessary for “realism” when the pirates themselves recognised how absolutely despicable it was.
I will always reblog
I've always looked at those scenes as if they were there for the women in the audience. One would be hard pressed to find a rape scene, in a mainstream movie, that brings glory or honor to the perpetrator. Those scenes are almost always a way deepening the level of evil of a character.
I've grown tired of them perpetuating the myth that men were baseless abusers of women.

Simple rebelliousness is not originality.
Being a contrariarion is an excellent first step.
“The ideology of liberal individualism promotes a mixing that is designed to erode the natural borders of homelands and cultures, and leads to a post-national and one-dimensional world where the only things that matter are consumption and production” - Cardinal Sarah
That 1.3% is based on confirmed cases. As in, positive tests. Considering 8 out of 10 people who have it, won't get tested, because they have no symptoms, that number shrinks to well below 1%. Likely below 1/10th of 1%.
If anybody could push a button and make it disappear, they would, but life doesn't work like that. It's a very weak virus that kills almost nobody in reasonably good health. The last estimate I heard was roughly 6% of those who died, died exclusively from Covid. The other 94% consisted of unhealthy octogenarians, those with an immune deficiency, and some who were grievously injured(?). It is, unfortunately, easily spread. So much so, that locking down the planet has done little good, if any, in preventing the spread.
The other is the subversion of democracy.
"More".
Leftists in both Europe and the United States declare that what they want is not by any means the Communism and Statism of yesteryear. All they want is MORE state control, MORE money redistributed from the wealthy, MORE replacement of individual liberty with collective goals. The problem is that if you desire and pursue more and more of anything vaguely, without deliberately determining beforehand when enough is enough, you will in all probability end up where you did not anticipate.
You don’t have to explicitly choose authoritarianism to get it, all you have to do is not value freedom enough; not be conscientious in the preservation of individual liberty. And the only way to actually be conscientious about something is to be exact. Precisely when is “more” enough?
