I have three years experience in official nannying, and several years more tutoring, babysitting, and working at camps (both paid and volunteer). My first job with children started at 14, when I started tutoring in religious education. I then moved up to the camps at 16, where I was not only a camp counselor, but a bus counselor which involves care of several children (10 to 13), by myself, for about two hours a day. My first real nanny position comes with a woman in NJ (I am used to long commutes, but they\'re very exhausting), Carolyn. She has a six year old son, two at the time, that I took care of for 30 hours a week, evenings, as she worked nights. I took care of Jeremy for almost 3 years, and it included light preparing of meals, baby housekeeping, LOTS of books!, and when he started preschool under my watch, homework help as well. I also encouraged him to get creative with art and dance/music. My second nannying and current nannying job is also in NJ, for a sweet toddler, also a boy. This job takes place in the morning, so I\'m not stranger to waking up early if need be! Ten hours a day, fifty hours a week. If I didn\'t know how to change a diaper before, I sure learned how! I started taking care of him when he was still only one year old, and he\'s just about three. I love my babies, but I think my specialty lies with older children. I\'m very into modern video games and Japanese anime, and those are becoming very popular with children over the age of 7 or so. Several times I\'ll mention Pokemon and I\'ll hear a little boy gasp in surprise about how that big lady knows about Pokemon or Naruto or other interesting things. I love that connection with children on their level! I am very interested in video games, writing, listening and learning Japanese music, Japanese culture in general! I am planning to go back to school at the University of Pittsburgh, which has an extensive Japanese major program, and is the only one that satisfies my thirst to learn about the culture. I love sharing that with children. I also play quite a few instruments: flute, alto saxophone, piano and half of a classical percussion team! I have also dabbled around with the clarinet. I\'ve played high school sports: soccer and volleyball, and I\'ve played soccer for ten years! Since I\'m taking care of a baby at the moment, I don\'t get to run around much anymore, but I\'d love to get involved in sports with kids and keep them active!
