Today : a 6'30 minutes video to sum up and talk about street harassment.
when he thinks cat calling is flattering
Sexual harassment is ubiquitous, but it's not smart to file a complaint. Here's why.
Here is an (old) article dealing with the main reasons which prevent women denoncing sexual harassment according to the author...
Does it make sense for you? Did she convince you?
As the campaign "It get's better" with messages written in piece of paper here is the projectunbreakable : : a serie of testimonies from people who was sexually assaulted. We need to share those experiences to find more and more people to support each victims and aware as many people as possible about thit problem!
All India Bakchod : "It's your fault"
A great video to understand now that it's your fault if he insulted you, if he assaulted you or touched you...
The irony is, sometimes, the only answer to those absurd "hum... but look at your clothes/attitude/gender (!!!)...it's your fault!"
"I would care less about what other people think."
Here is an interesting project supported by LeanIn.org (see the link on the top of the page) to empower women!
And you, what would you do if you weren't afraid ?
Sexual harassment and other forms of sexual violence in public spaces are an everyday occurrence for women and girls around the worldâin urban and rural areas, in developed and developing countries.
Here is a link to the United Nations for Women, street harassment is, unfortunately, a global problem.
"Don't let him walk all over you, from morning 'til evening : stand up!" and be proud to be a woman walking in the streets!
Thank you Carmen, thank you Antonin.

Domestic violence and sexual abuse are often called "womenâs issues.â But in this bold, blunt talk, Jackson Katz points out that these are intrinsically menâs issues -- and shows how these violent behaviors are tied to definitions of manhood. A clarion call for us all -- women and men -- to call out unacceptable behavior and be leaders of change.
In 2012, Jackson Katz gave a short lecture about how people, in general, understand "gender" as a "women issue" and consequently how violence against women is heard as a "women problem", it is an human problem. We can talk about a biaised view feeds by the dominant classes such as the "white-heterosexual-male" or the "30-year-old-man-in-western-countries" and so on. J. Katz kept on with a linguistic analogy which resumes all the issue.
Jackson Katz is our bystander of the week : if you can, please, share this video I am persuaded that it could wake people up about the violence against women, couldn't?
The goal of bystander intervention programs is to block bad behavior before it crosses the line from drunken partying to rape.
Here is an article (2014.02.07) about the analysis of bystanders : how they do, what could be the consequences without them on the victim and the aggressor, and more here is an article which shares some initiatives in colleges especially to prevent rapes in parties.
Here we are not in streets but this sort of analysis, examples and initiatives can be a model for us.
How to be an efficient bystander : a video from Northwest District attorney, David E. Sullivan - Consent, the difference between sex and rape
It could be applied to street harrassment, as Hollaback explains on its website.
