We are extending the deadline for Volume 3 submissions! In order to make Volume 3 as spectacular as possible we are extending the submission deadline to February 5th! You can submit anything knitting and stitching related: yarn creations, photos, illustrations, writing, and more. Email your submissions to [email protected] and DM us if you have any questions!
Happy New Year to all of you knitters out there! We are officially accepting submissions for Volume Three of Storied Stitches! Your imagination is the limit. Anything to do with knitting will be considered. Be political, be edgy, be yourself. We would love to see inspiration pictures, free patterns, illustrations, comics knitting tips, poems, pictures, drawings, blurbs, stories or anything you can think of. The only parameters are that it must make sense in a 5.5” x 8.5” printed format and should be one or two pages. We would be willing to consider longer submissions, just contact us first. Comment or DM us for questions. Email final submission to [email protected]. Include your name and IG url or blog url so you can receive credit for your work. Deadline for submissions of this issue is Monday January 29th.
We are happy to announce the release of volume two of Storied Stitches. This zine is a collection of original work by seven different knitters exploring a range of topics. Storied Stitches is an independently produced and published mini-magazine that seeks to reflect the vibrant culture of knitting.

Volume 1 is officially here! Who wants a copy? Storied Stitches is a collection of knitting-related creative projects submitted by people right here on Instagram and Tumblr. It includes beautiful illustrations, inspiration photos, poetry, writing, and even a fingerless glove pattern that is perfect for fall. This 20 page full-color zine is the first volume in a new independent publication series with new issues coming out every two months, organized by the two-woman team of my best friend and myself. A lot of heart has gone into this project, so I hope you find inspiration and enjoyment from what we and our contributors have made.

How can I read Storied Stitches?
Physical copies will be available through Etsy, as well as Venmo and Paypal (you can message us for more details on the latter two).
You can access a digital copy for free via Google Drive .
We will also have physical copies at the California College of the Arts Holiday fare in Oakland, CA (more details coming soon).
Where is my money going if I pay for Storied Stitches?
All money made from this zine are going back into the production of the zine. This includes printing and shipping costs, Etsy posting costs, etc. We want this zine to be accessible to as many people as possible, so we are not building in any profit in producing this zine and we have a free digital copy available.
Will contributors be paid for their submissions?
At this point, we are a two woman operation and funding this zine with our own money. Once we grow a bit more, we plan on compensating contributors! All contributors will receive three free, physical copies of the finished zine.
What about copyright?
We expect that you submit your own work, so everything you submit will belong to you and we will only reproduce your work in the zine. We expect you will edit, test patterns, etc to your satisfaction. If you have further concerns please email us directly at [email protected] and we will help to the best of our ability. If you have read Storied Stitches and would like to reproduce any works/images/writing in the zine we ask you contact the creator directly!

Come knit with us! Our names are Caroline and Valentina. We are just about to graduate from college and are looking for a community of knitting friends to hang out and craft with. We hope to share ideas and patterns, engage in charity knitting, and do photo shoots of our finished objects.
Our next meeting is July 9th at 2:00pm at UC Berkeley. We are meeting at Crescent & University Dr, then we will be finding a nice spot to sit. This location is very close to the Downtown Berkeley BART Station.
