My current feelings in regards to whether or not Thjazi was involved with whatever event led to the doors of Faerie being closed is that, yes, Brennan definitely seems to be hinting at that, but I'd argue Thjazi was not aware that it was a possibility and did not intentionally take that risk.
When he is yelling at Mara it certainly sounds like he is confused and upset as to how this could have happened, and his question (paraphrased, not exact wording) "Why didn't it have an anchor?" leads me to believe that there were supposed to be precautions, and Mara was the one who either set them up and (accidentally or intentionally) did not provide one for Faerie, or knew there was a risk and withheld that from Thjazi.
So, like...I don't think he intentionally put the Realm of Faerie, and an important link to it which affects the livelihood of two people he loves very much, at risk. While I floated that option, I wouldn't even go so far as to say that Mara intentionally took that risk until we meet her and have a chance to learn more about her.

On the map of how PCs treat the under 30 PCs and NPCs, Thimble makes a very interesting point of reference
Because she's never treated Occtis like a kid... Even when he was an actual 8 year old. When Occtis is twenty and up against the ropes vs the Crowkeepers, Thimble is the first one to shoot down Occtis's excuse of him being a kid
And yet... For whatever reason, Thimble is closer to Occtis than Azune, who she's known for much longer. She fought a war with Azune. She must have known Azune since he was 12 years old and abandoned on a street corner. 12 is not much older than 8.
Sure, Occtis has the whole... "freshly dead" situation to make Thimble extra clingy to him. But Azune is literally crying about how he's so scared to be alone and Thimble never offers to join him.
(Even more pointedly, she turns down Hal when he asks for her company to the Halovar estate purely bc Occtis couldn't go there so she can't come either)
And it really just leaves Azune the odd man out. Like, why did Thimble cling to Occtis not Azune when she met them both as kids? Why are they the closer duo when Azune has known Thimble for longer? Shouldn't Thimble, who shares the same grief of losing her partner, understand more than most the pain of being alone?
It can't be an age thing. As mentioned, Thimble has never once considered either Azune or Occtis less capable just for their age. Also, as Brennan mentioned, Thimble doesn't know how Azune lives this whole time since the rebellion, whereas, she and Occtis only became friends after the rebellion.
I have no conclusory statement, I just find it a fascinating point on the map.

Yes, he has like a... Well, how many minutes is more than a few?
Greater than 12.
No, I don't think hit 12, but it's been three to five, a dozen times.
Yeah, he's solid in the three to five, I get that. Anyone's great in three to five.

Oh King Gus
A man who never wanted to be king but got saddled with it because he was too damn good at his job,
A man who was rejected by his father, lost the man who raised him, lost his uncles, lost his lover, and yet has never lost his hope or his kindness,
A man who gets called a tyrant for trying to do right by his people, and yet still loves and fights for all of his people including the ones who oppose him,
A man whose first and only thought after nearly dying and then witnessing what looked like an actual divine miracle was, “I need to tend to my fallen knight,”
What a man you are
