also might need to replace my wheelchair to something more suited to my needs post hospital. the one im looking at has a headrest and recline feature which would be so helpful for my cci and dysautonomia and allow me to have more freedom. my current one doesnt have the front wheels attached rn and i haven't been able to fix it.

new chair is $989. would really appreciate the help getting it

honestly the main reason i care about harm reduction is that i believe addicts are deserving of life. "what if they don't get clean?" they still deserve to live. "what if they don't contribute?" they still deserve to live. "what if they 'abuse' the system?" they still deserve to live.

addicts deserve to live by virtue of them being human. nothing will change that. nobody deserves to die of an overdose.

one of the "these can and should coexist" things to me is "there are numerous fat people who eat healthy and exercise and could beat the average skinny person in a hike" and "fat people who are fat and arent athletic and dont eat super healthy and do get winded walking up hills also are apart of fat liberation and deserve love too"

The fatphobia rampant in our society rn is so fucking dire. We went from fairly successful body positivity to people suicide baiting fat people in just a few years. Mind boggling

And like yeah even during the body positivity movement there were still people treating fat people lik shit but we at least made it a weird thing to do socially for the most part. Now I’m getting video after video of people telling fat people they HAVE to lose weight to be respected and every single comment section of a video of a fat person just existing is just entirely filled with people calling them disgusting and shameful. And people are out there defending the glorification of eating disorders. We have truly have lost the plot so hard it’s not even funny.

my mum has severe knee problems and needs a replacement. Today she was told she's too fat to be operated on and the knee specialist suggested she gets a gastric band - which also involves surgery. So my mum was like first of all you didn't read my file because it explains that I'm not fat because I eat too much second of all you said it's impossible for me to get surgery and then suggested I get a surgery about it? He then asked her her weight and height, didn't believe her answer, and made her prove it to him because she "looks fatter than that". So she was like so you also just entirely based this on looks instead of actual numbers?

My mom went through something similar. She needed a knee replacement and her doctor wouldn’t okay it until she lost weight, which was difficult given the whole knee problem preventing her from walking thing. He told her she was too dangerous to operate on and that there were just too many risks.

My mom tried to lose weight in vain for months before she finally gave into my begging her to get a second opinion. The first doctor she saw next scheduled her for surgery the same day she met him. When my mom asked about the risk of operating on her he told her that there was some minor risks for complication and that all she would need to do to alleviate the risk was spend an extra night in the hospital so that they could keep a look out for any complications.

There were zero. There were also zero complications when she had her other knee done, her hip replaced and her gallbladder removed.

Almost like the first doctor was entirely full of shit and just trying to coerce his patient to lose weight by scaring her for fucking nothing, even when she was living day to day in excruciating pain and desperately needed a surgery.

i love plushies so much, i recently did a plushie tour on my tiktok, where i showed all my plushies which. i have a lot of. i also showed how i store them :3 i have very strong emotional bonds with my plushies and they are more than just items to me. i have almost all of them on display in my bedroom and i have some of them in my bed. right now i have 5 squishmallows on my bed that i sleep with, and usually move them around every other day so they don’t feel left out 😭 i have favourite plushies but i still love them all so much.
