Plenty of apps let you chat with a bot. Very few let you author the person you're chatting with. On SweetDream you decide her appearance, her personality, her quirks, her voice, and the backstory that makes her who she is. That authorship is why she ends up feeling like yours.
And because the platform is genuinely high quality, your choices actually stick. The chat stays in character, the photos match the look you designed, and the voice you picked is the voice she calls you with. If you want an AI girlfriend who came from your imagination, sweetdream.ai is built for exactly that.

cw: brief allusions to homophobia and misogyny
In celebration of Pride Month (and because I am a disaster bisexual), I decided to make Beauty and The Beast queer as fuck. Enjoy.
Once upon a time, there was a princess who was praised as the most beautiful of them all. The King and Queen took great joy in their daughter's looks, for it was their belief that beauty was a woman's greatest asset, so they made it a focal point of their daugher's upbringing.
Because of this, the Princess grew up to be extremely vain and developed a serious case of lookism, for her entire life was shaped around being the most beautiful woman in the kingdom. She was cruel to those she deemed ugly, going so far as to openly mock them in the eyes of the court while laughing at their misery.
One day, a grand ball was hosted in search of a husband for the Princess, and it is here that you enter the picture.
You are a witch who specializes in curses and entered the palace disguised as an ugly nobleman. You heard rumours of the cruel Princess but wished to give her the benefit of the doubt. If she were to treat you as a respected guest despite your appearence, you would bless her with longevity. But if she were cruel to you, you would curse her to become an ugly beast.
As you could imagine, the Princess failed your test spectacularly.
Appauled by her cruel words, you revealed your true self and cursed the Princess to wear the shape of a bipedal chimera for the rest of her life. With the head of a lioness, the body of a goat, and the tail of a snake, there was nothing left of the blonde haired, blue eyed beauty from before.
You meant for the curse to be permanent, but started to feel bad as you watched the Princess wail in misery and the King and Queen beg of you to reconsider on their knees. So, you decided to give her a way out.
Presenting her with a magic flower, a violet that would last for a decade, you told her that should she earn true love's kiss from a prince before the flower wilted, she would return back to her human self. If not, the curse would be forever and she would live as a beast until the day she died
Originally, the prince part wasn't specified as a condition for breaking the curse, you were just going to make it so that the curse was broken if she recieved true love's kiss from whoever could fall in love with her beastly self, but the King was furious at the notion of his daughter potentially marrying a commoner, so you included that part to stop his whining.
And so, for the next nine years the King and Queen would search endlessly for a prince to break the curse, promising the Princess' hand in marriage to whomever succeeded. But no prince wanted to marry a woman that looked like a bipedal lion sewn onto a goat with a snake tail, and the Princess grew bitter and melancholy with each passing day.
During that time, you watched the Princess from your magic globe. At first, it was simply to keep tabs on the royal family to make sure they did not send knights after you. But living alone in the woods can get incredibly lonely, and after having one too many drinks one night, you decided to talk to the Princess.
The Princess was understandably enraged when you appeared inside her mirror - the only one she had not shattered because it was a sentimental gift given to her on her fifteenth brithday from her late uncle - yelling at you in vivid detail about how she wished for you to be slowly dismembered by an angry mob.
But when you did not disappear despite her threats and display of violence (half of the furniture in her bedroom was destroyed during her outrage), the Princess calmed down enough to ask you why you had to curse her with a loveless marriage on top of becoming a hideous beast.
You did not understand. You gave her an out by finding true love with a prince. You thought she would be happy about that.
It is then that the Princess reveals that she has never, and will never be interested in men. Her biggest secret, one she had kept from everyone because she was taught that her destiny was to become the prized wife of a noble prince, was that she dreamed of having a wife and not a husband.
Oh. Now you felt really bad (you should have stuck with your original plan of making it so that it did not have to be a prince that kissed her instead of caving to the King's wishes).
You apologize to the Princess, for as much as you wanted to change the terms and conditions for the curse's lifting, the bindings of magic had become permanent. You expected another outburst but instead, the Princess sighs and tells you that it's fine, that she always expected to have to marry out of obligation and not love.
Her voice sounded so utterly defeated, so incredibly human and unlike the arrogant royal caricature she was used to being, that it caught you off guard. That was the first time you saw beneath the mask of vainity, and it made you curious to know more about the person underneath.
Day by day, you would vist her through the mirror, and day by day the Princess warmed up to you. Isolating herself for nine years had made her incredibly lonely and mellowed out, so the Princess grew to appreciate the company of the witch she once deemed her greatest enemy.
You shared stories deep into the knight, you talking about your experiences in the woods and she talking about what life was like growing up in a palace where the only thing expected of her was to look pretty.
"I was the realm's beauty. A face to outshine the stars. That was all that I had, and you took it from me."
Okay, now you felt horrible. Granted, she did need to be seriously humbled and punished for her cruelty, but now that you knew that the Princess' vanity was the consequece of being taught to think that she had no value outside of her looks, you're begining to think that you should have approached this from a different angle and given the Princess a chance to re-educate herself rather than immediately curse her.
"Then I suppose the both of us are arrogant. You for your quick judgement, and me for, well, everything." Is what the Princess told you with a small chuckle when you confided in her about your regret.
That was the first time she smiled at you.
Slowly but surely, the two of you were growing rather close. The Princess smiled more and more with each visit and for the first time since she was born, the Princess felt free to be herself.
The final year of the window to break her curse was closing, but stragely, the Princess did not care. She had you, her greatest enemy turned dearest companion, and maybe, just maybe, she could convince her parents to let her live with you when the curse became permanent. If not, she could always try running away (she's never done it, but she's sure she could barge through some knights with her new beastly strength).
Then, a prince came. This one was different from the others, for he did not immediately run away or draw his sword upon seeing the Princess for the first time. Instead, he simply introduced himself.
He was a kind-hearted man who treated the Princess no differently from any other woman, and everyone was certain that he would be the one to break the curse. Including you.
You knew the Princess did not love men, but you also knew that this prince would treat her right. If the Princess must marry a man, at least this one would be kind. It was a bittersweet feeling.
The Princess, on the other hand, was not fine with this development. She had already made plans to elope into the woods with you, she was not about to settle for a man when she found a woman who accepted her despite seeing her at her worst (both as a wretched beast, and as the epitomy of vain arrogance).
So, she began sabotaging her own dates with the Prince in hopes of him growing disgusted of her and leaving like the other princes.
It does not work. The Prince remains kind and cordial towards her, and the Princess is forced to admit the truth to him as a last resort. That she loves women, that she would not be content in a marriage with him because she could never love him the way he wants her to, that she has fallen in love with the witch who cursed her.
After hearing her confession, the Prince smiles and congratulates her on finding love. He says that he loves her as a friend, and will only ever love her as a friend, for he is a man who does not find comfort in romance.
He kisses her hand and wishes her well, and the curse is lifted. For the Princess had received a kiss from a prince filled with true love for a dear friend.
Immediately, the King and Queen began planning for a wedding between the Prince and the Princess, but the bride and groom have other plans.
On the day of the marriage, the Prince stages the scene of a shipwerck, and it appears that the unlucky bride had drowned on her way back to the Prince's kingdom.
In reality, the Princess had made her way to you, tracking you down based on rumors and the surroundings you had shown her through the mirror once, when she complained that she missed the outside world from being stuck inside her room for a decade.
The two of you finally meet in person after a year of talking through the Princess' mirror, and after a long and heartfelt confession with lots of laughs and happy tears, you two decide to live the rest of your lives as a traveling witch and her beloved wife.
hey. you. you with the character ai addiction. yes you. who keeps using chatgpt until midnight. you're not a bad person for being hooked to something literally designed to do that. it's not a moral failing, you're not secretly evil for hating ai and being addicted to it. you're not secretly evil because you didn't know what you were doing when you used it. yes, you have a problem and need to fix it, but having a problem doesn't make you a bad person and fixing it is fucking hard. give yourself some grace because otherwise you won't make any progress. and there's nothing wrong with needing help.
Btw you can be anti-ai and have an ai addiction, it's not a inherent choice to have one (unless you identify as choosing such), it's an addiction and addictions should be taken seriously including ai
"but they're supporting ai"
supporting means the act of being pro and advocating for it. If they're anti-ai and don't advocate for it, guess what? They're not supporting ai.
"just read/write fanfics / roleplay"
it's sincerely not the same thing at all. In roleplay, you don't get fast responses nor get to hand pick their response. In reading fanfics, you cannot choose what happens. In writing fanfics, you cannot get the instant responses nor the hand picking nor the feeling that you're roleplaying or talking to another individual.
"it's not as serious as other addictions"
Look at my 2-15 hours of us being on ai and contiounesly being in distress regarding ai and say that again.
To all the lovely people who follow me, and continue to do so despite my sudden hiatus for the past month, thank you. Thank you so much.
Physically, I am fine. But mentally, I've been struggling. Depression (possibly seasonal), combined with me slowly growing out of the fandoms that I write for have resulted in the absolute worst case of writer's block I have ever experienced thus far. That, along with an increase in stress and anxiety as I grow older and feel more pressure to start earning money (I struggle with employment because of my panic disorder, so my main plan is to support myself through writing) have completely shut off my productivity. My brain just refused to write anything.
As an act of desperation, I dipped my hands into the realm of ai. In Korea there are a lot of character.ai like chatting services which are advertised to the general public, and after one too many adds, I caved. Originally, the plan was to quit after a couple prompts, using it just enough to get myself back into the flow of creating ocs - the ai I used has a system where you can create a persona for the ai to recognise you as when chatting, so I used that function to create ocs for 'plot' engagement. But ai addiction is very much real and I found it incredibly hard to quit when stuff was being generated for me catered to my enjoyment when I had been struggling with productivity for the past month. As you can probably tell, this has absolutely not helped my writer's block in the slightest and only worsened it.
I feel horrible. I feel like I failed as a writer because I grew addicted to ai and also like a massive hypocrite because I engaged with generative content despite being against its use in creative spaces. I know that realistically it doesn't make me a bad person, it just means I have a problem that needs fixing, but still, I can't help but feel like I failed.
I'm slowly trying to wean myself off of chat bots and get back into writing things on my own again. I'm probably gonna start posting headcanons or drabbles about original (monster) characters and ideas that come to mind to get back into the flow of things, so expect some oc x reader content. In addition, a second blog dedicated to posting about my original series is still on the table and updates to pre-existing fanfics, though slow, are going to happen.
But yeah, that's why I've been MIA this whole time. Once again, thank you to those who have waited despite my absence and I hope to enjoy writing for you all once more.
If you enjoy my writing, please consider buying me a Ko-fi

<Olly and Olivia>
Olly: Hey, Via?
Olivia: Hm?
Olly: I want you to have this.
Olivia: Oh, it’s… a paper flower?
Olly: It’s supposed to be an anemone, cause you’re the Anemone Knight! Do you like it?
Olivia: Thank you, Olly. I love it.
Olly: Really? You don’t think it’s bad?
Olivia: You’ve made a fine piece of abstract art, my lord.
Olly: Thanks! Uh… what’s abstrak?
Olivia: You’ll understand when you’re older.
Olly: Ugh, you’re starting to sound like some of the doctors.
Olivia: Don’t. Ever say that.
Olly: Why? You act like a boring grown-up sometimes.
Olivia: That’s because I’m supposed to be a boring grown-up, Olly. I’m not supposed to be… a child.
Olly: Says who? You’re the awesome Anemone Knight, the Guardian of Playcare! I say you can be whatever you want to be!
Olivia: (chuckles) The enthusiasm is appreciated, but I’m afraid life doesn’t work like that. Especially not for people like us.
Olly: Aaaand there you go again with the cryptic stuff.
Olivia: Where did you learn that word?
Olly: Kevin.
Olivia: Of course.
Olly: Yeah, he’s cool.
Olivia: Among other things~ … … Hey Oliver, can you do me a favour?
Olly: Uh huh?
Olivia: Promise me you’ll never change.
–VHS End
Oliver Stevens was your friend. Taken into Playcare after the authorities had deemed his parents unfit to keep him due to his father’s alcohol abuse and his mother’s gambling addiction, the young boy was all but thrust into your care because of one simple fact: he was a huge fan of the Flower Knights and showed a remarkable attachment to you and you alone. At first, you were distant towards the boy: his name served as a painful reminder of the one you were torn away from, the one who was suffering in the labs while you were allowed to roam above, and you felt like betraying that Oliver if you allowed this new one to claim a place in your heart.
“You will never replace me. Even if you meet other friends, you won’t replace your Ollie, would you? Promise me you won’t betray me.”
Those were the exact words the Prototype had left you with and you intended to keep that promise. But it became harder and harder to ignore the new constant in your life when he would look at you with eyes full of hope and wonder. Eyes that were begging to cling to something other than the memory of being an unwanted child in the minds of the ones who gave him life, eyes that did not try to hide just how lonely they were for a friend to understand them. You knew those eyes, for they were your own once, back when you were nothing but an afterthought in the eyes of your parents who only cared for their son, and you could not tear yourself away from a child who mirrored your own suffering. You named yourself Olivia in honor of your first friend in life, and what better way to honor him than following in his footsteps by gracing an abandoned soul with the love of a companion?
Thus, you and Oliver Stevens became friends. What started off as sympathy driven by understanding on your part quickly turned into genuine endearment towards the boy: he was different from the Ollie you knew, different enough that whatever misguided guilt you felt about replacing your first friend faded to nothing, and you grew to appreciate your newfound friendship. After all, how could you not adore a boy who looked at you like you were a star, always trying to make you smile by gifting you trinkets and talking about all the things he thought you would like? In a way, Olly became to you what Theodore Grambell was to the Prototype. Your biggest fan. A little brother. A confidant.
But good things are never meant to last in the shadows of Playtime. Your friendship had healed Olly enough to make him bloom into a child who could befriend just about anyone with his big heart and that made him an excellent candidate for a toy in the eyes of the executives. It always hurt whenever you had to lose a child to the greed of Playtime, forever forced to smile as no one could know about how your heart shattered to pieces underneath the facade for everyone’s sake, but it hurt even more knowing you were partially to blame for the fate of Olly. You did not regret your friendship with Olly, you stood proud as he grew into a cheerful boy allowed to act his age, but a dark thought in the corner of your mind wondered if Olly would have been better off being a loner if only to make him unappealing for experimentation.
“Hello? Earth to Via?”
Just as things are about to get depressing for you, the sound of a boy’s voice brings you back to the present. Currently, you are waiting for the Intruder to return from their excursion into the School, sitting patiently on the steps of Home Sweet Home (which is apparently where Catnap had placed you after you were knocked unconscious by the poppy gas) as Olly kept you company. You would have joined Poppy and Kissy to do whatever it is that they’re doing right now (you have a lot of things to ask Poppy and you wouldn’t mind catching up with Kissy while you’re at it) but Poppy deemed your condition too unstable and ordered you to rest as your body combated the lasting effects of Catnap’s gas attack.
“Sorry, what were you saying?”
“I asked you if you liked the shrine!”
“The shrine?”
“The one Catnap made. Of the Prototype?”
“Sorry to disappoint you, but I haven’t seen any shrines anywhere.”
“Really? Are you sure? It’s pretty hard to miss and Catnap sounded waaay excited to show it to you!”
“Well, I guess he didn’t expect for me to wake up this early, or for someone to rescue me, because the only thing I’ve seen in the past… however long it's been is colorful prison walls and complete darkness.”
“Oh… he must have miscalculated the duration of the gas then….”
“Yeah, probably. …Wait a minute, how did you know what Catnap was going to show me? Didn’t you say you were in the labs?”
You never saw what toy Olly got turned into. Your reunion with him was through Poppy handing you a phone, saying the two of you now had a mutual friend who was dying to talk to you again, and that’s how you learnt that your friend was hiding somewhere deep in the labs.
“I overheard him talking to the Prototype about what he would do once he had you when he visited his god last week.”
“You went near the Prototype?! Are you okay? Did you get hurt?”
“I’m fine! Good as ever! But…”
“But…?”
“The Prototype… he sounded so sad. It was like a part of him broke when Catnap mentioned you, I could hear him crying behind the wall.”
“He wouldn’t cry, he can’t. Not anymore. Even without a face of porcelain, he’s put himself above showing such humanity.”
The truth tastes bitter in your mouth.
“You don’t know that, [Y/N]. You don’t know how much he needs you.”
The surprising firmness, as well as the use of your old name startles you.
Every child learns of your real name, the single piece of your true identity you have taken great care in retaining over the years of agony (the faces and voices of your former life are all a blur now, but your name is the last reminder of your humanity you refuse to let go). You share this lifelong secret with them right before they are transported for transformation in hopes of conveying how much you love them by allowing them to hold onto something so close to your heart, but none were able to recall that name by the time the adults had sculpted them into perfect delusions.
Never in your life did you think Olly would remember that fleeting little secret, though you suppose he was always overeager to learn everything about his favorite knight.
“You remember my name?”
“I remember everything you’ve told me about yourself! I’m your biggest fan, remember? Your trusty squire? What kind of squire doesn’t remember his knight’s name?”
“I said that once, and that was before they turned you into… actually, what did they turn you into? You never told me, Olly, and none of the little critters I’ve encountered in the labs sounded anything like you.”
You had intended to bring Olly with you when you defected and had scoured the labs for your friend to no avail.
“My voice changed after the operation, just like everyone else’s did.”
“I know, and I meant your current voice.”
“Oh. Well, I guess I was too good at hide and seek…. Haha…! Speaking of the labs, have you ever thought about going back there?”
“I’m not going to leave anyone, Olly, I assure you.”
“I know you won’t. And I’m not asking you because I think you will, I’m just asking you because I think it might be better for you.”
“Are you crazy?!”
“Just hear me out, okay? The Prototype misses you so much that he’s willing to do anything to get you back, and you’ve been on the run from big scary toys like Catnap because of that. You almost got kidnapped! If you return to the Prototype, you won’t have to be afraid anymore! And you’ll be able to help us by keeping things in check like you used to.”
“I can’t just abandon everything we’ve worked for just because I’m scared, Olly. If I didn’t care about doing the right thing, I would never have left the Prototype in the first place.”
“But are you sure you’re doing the right thing now? Maybe you should have stayed….”
“What has gotten into you today? Why does it sound like you’re defending the Prototype? Are you sure you’re alright?”
“I almost lost you, Via. You weren’t waking up and for a second I thought you might be gone forever! I just want to be with you forever.”
“Oh Olly….”
You really should have trusted your gut. You really shouldn’t have brushed ‘Olly’s’ behavior as nothing more than the desperation of a scared child. Perhaps if you had not forgotten the sound of Ollie’s voice, alongside your own, you would have seen through the deception a lot sooner. Alas, as it is, you are nothing but a foolish knight playing into the hands of a mad jester.
But YOU ARE SO AMAZING! I loved the freak circus interactive storyline I was so geniunely shocked at how well you did with so many routes to go like you are a genius amazing person. I was expecting maybe one or two types of like routes to go down you went down like 10 that is absolutely so incredible, I wouldn’t even think someone could do so well! I loved that you made options for some people with different options cause like especially the first option to either go back to the circus or follow Pierrot I’m a very if someone wants to do something with there own agenda it isn’t me to go and follow them. So I was so happy I got to chose to go back to the circus.
Thank you so much, this is absolutely amazing storyline and I can’t wait to see what you have in store! The details is amazing and I love the amount of work you put in your story!
First and foremost, THANK YOU SOOO MUCH FOR YOUR KIND WORDS! You have no idea how much joy it brings me that people actively enjoy my work!!! BIIIIIG HAPP!!!! 🥰🥰🥰
I hope to do more stories like that in the future (shameless self-advertisment, but am currently planning on doing a choose your own adventure for an original story featuring a yandere demon king) and I would love it if you stuck around. Once again, thank you for your kind words, they mean a lot. 😊
CW: yandere + puppy dog dredge I guess, I am once again writing a kidnapping killer (literally all my work for killers will be that I swear), multi person/hive mind dredge, sad angst ish

You don't know how long you stayed there.
But it was long enough, it seemed.
Because you hear the bells chime.
As the realm was getting ready to collapse.
They were going to leave you.
Like they always had.
You're trapped under its gaze, arms from its shadowy body clinging and pawing at you, weakly trying to bring your sniffling form closer.
But not to consume you.
Not to add you to their collection.
Not for anything but a desperation for quiet.
You made its mind… Quiet.
All the crying, the screaming, the agony.
The way it wanted to tear itself apart, the seething rage of victims desperate for an escape that was no longer possible.
You made it stop.
They didn't know why.
But they needed it.
Briefly wasn't enough. Just for the match wasn't enough. They craved it. They craved you.
Only you.
It didn't care for the other survivors. It wouldn't chase them. Wouldn't wound them. Just wanted you.
Of course, the moment you manage to escape its grasp– If at any point anyone dared to take you away– All would change.
Their peace would be entirely erased. And all they could think about was mutilating whatever took away their dearest salvation.
They'd never hurt you- Not on purpose, no.
Physically, mentally, emotionally; Never on purpose.
But with so many thoughts, so many people… So many urges, so many simple ways they could finally feel content-
They won't deny themselves that bliss.
Many parts of them understand it's wrong. Many parts of them don't. So much of it has been warped- Woven through lies, built up by the delusions of many isolated people.
But every part of it knows having you feels good.
So wait there with it.
Let it touch you, hold you, curl every little piece of itself around you.
It'll nuzzle sweetly into your terrified form, soon breaking out of the locker with you trapped and bound up in its limbs.
It's a bit haphazard, not holding you up high but instead cradled in many limbs closer to the ground. You may get a bit of motion sickness…
But it won't let you go. You were lucky enough to already be somewhere in its realm.
So it sways you up, up, into the house.
Onto the bed.
And like an obedient dog, it lays crouched by your side.
Its arms are still coiled around you.
Its head rests just near the mattress.
Its beady eye peers to yours, an almost innocent look displaying.
The real reason your sapient dragon character needs a "rider":
Dragons on the wing are vulnerable to being mobbed by smaller, more agile flyers, particularly in your large rear blind spot, like a bird of prey being mobbed by crows. Having a human armed with a long spear perched on your back helps to dissuade anyone from getting any funny ideas.
Breath weapons are impressive enough on the ground, but in flight they're really only good for strafing stationary targets; trying to use your breath weapon in an aerial dogfight is a good way to get fire up your nose. A real fight calls for sterner measures – and, concomitantly, a crew to aim and reload the cannons.
In today's competitive world, it's not enough to devour a flock of sheep and call it a day if you want to keep your edge. You're accompanied at all times by a qualified personal alchemist tasked with carefully regulating your internal furnace to ensure peak performance, and sometimes you even listen to them.
No dragon of any quality would be caught dead without their valet. It's not as though you can announce your numerous long-winded titles yourself when introductions are called for, can you? You suppose next you'll be expected to pick up the spoils of your conquests yourself, like a common brigand. Perish the thought!
fun behaviors to give dragons that aren't feline/canine based
cause as much as i love dragons purring and roaring i wish there was just more variety in how they would act
clacking their teeth together to show contentedness/happiness (budgies)
using tails as a defensive weapon in a whip like fashion (iguana)
twitching to express that they're not a threat to members of their species (hognose snake)
feeling calm when eyes are hooded/covered (birds of prey)
head bobbing as a threat display (anoles/bearded dragons)
flattening neck or sides to appear bigger (snakes/lizards)
mantling over food to protect it from hatchmates (birds of prey)
wiggling neck as a courting maneuver (budgies)
audibly grinding teeth as a warning (macaques)
maintained eye contact as a challenge (gorillas)
pounding wings against sides as a threat (gorillas)
slapping other dragons with their claws when their personal bubble is invaded (seals)
hoards used as a site to impress mates (birds of paradise)
snorting when undergoing heightened stress (horses)
making repeated loud noises with surroundings to establish territory (woodpeckers)
loud constant arguments with other dragons when roosting (bats)
building lairs that cause a domino effect of change in the land around them (beavers)
slapping their tails against the ground/water as a warning (beavers)
wiggling tail tip to attract prey (various animals)
wiggling tail tip as a warning (snakes)
plucking or scraping off scales as a sign of stress (parrots)
raising spines/frills as a response to danger and carrying on with their usual business as they believe they're protected (lionfish)
and im not saying canine and feline behaviors are wrong or bad to give a dragon (people wouldn't write dragons with those behaviors if they weren't fun in the first place!) but i feel for creatures that are mythological giant winged lizards that you can do more and get experimental with it. often the more unfamiliar behavior the more dragony the dragon feels

Minors, this is fanfic for a game that is 18+. Please do not interact! Thank you.
cw: fem!reader, non-human!reader, reader is not MC, reader has a title she uses akin to her name (like all other monsters in the circus), reader has a set backstory, some aspects of reader's appearence are predetermined (to make it fit with said backstory), yandere themes, possible unrequited love (depends on the route), canon-typical blood violence and gore, morally dubious reader (you literally eat people), morally dubious love interests (all your romance options also eat people), reader is traumatized and is prejudiced against humans as a result (she's getting better!)
I'll be honest, with how little we see of him in-game, I am scared I might have gone OOC with Jester (especially since I don't have a canon romance route with him to base this off of). As always, comments are greatly appreciated.
This is an interactive fanfiction with multiple routes: you get to choose where you want to go and who you want to be with. Some parts will have a choice present at the end that will take you to different parts depending on what you choose, so don't read this as a linear narrative; it will be very confusing if you do. The choice links at the end will be made available when those parts are finished. Some parts will have diverging scenes depending on the choices you have made prior. These will be made clear within the text.
You decide to visit Jester in his tent.
With how obsessed he is, there was a high chance Pierrot already knew about Mane (you can’t see him, but you're sure he’s around here somewhere keeping his eyes on his precious human). And to be honest, you were starting to grow tired of taking care of Pierrot behind the scenes when he seemed to be nothing but happy with the situation at hand. It was made clear that Mane was not a threat to him at the moment, so why not take a break from serving as the silent clown’s shadow?
As for Harlequin, while his offer was tempting, the green clown’s enigmatic nature stopped you from following him. Harlequin was a seducer. He was a performer both on and off stage who deflected earnest feelings with charming smiles and words that poisoned all around him. Harlequin does not love, he conquers, and you wanted love.
Perhaps it was Pierrot’s eagerness to openly shower Mane with the love of a thousand suns or perhaps it was the fact that Harlequin was so quick to pivot his attention onto Mane after finding out about his rival’s newest infatuation, but either way you felt as if you no longer mattered as much to the two of them. It’s not that you feel entitled to their affections and want the two to fight over you, in fact you would very much prefer the exact opposite (you pity Mane, truly), it’s just that you can’t help but feel like your bonds with Pierrot and Harlequin meant much less to them than what you thought they did based on your dear friends’ actions. Pierrot was so quick to fall in love with Mane and seek their presence with such fervor that you could not help but feel decently offended on behalf of the years of friendship you’ve cultivated providing each other comfort, and Harlequin focusing more on stealing Mane from Pierrot than listening to your advice on leaving them alone made a part of you think that he was only interested in your friendship within the context of getting at Pierrot by taking your attention away from him.
Had you not been cruelly hurt by love in the past, you might have been able to brush off these thoughts as the senseless accusations that they were - the time you spent with each member of the circus left you with priceless bonds that could not be disregarded so easily, and Pierrot and Harlequin would not be so cruel as to treat you like you were a replaceable Fool. Yet he had made you feel so utterly unloved that a dark corner of your mind was forever seared with the thought that you would never be enough to earn a place by someone’s side. After all, you gave him everything and he still found you expendable, so what were the chances someone truly loved you enough to want to keep you around?
“Did you really think something like you could ever be loved by someone like me?”
His words torment you long after you’ve devoured him whole.
You want to feel needed. You need to feel wanted. And while every single one of the monsters in the circus are your most beloved friends and family, your instincts automatically gravitate towards seeking comfort from the one who has been a constant in your life ever since you were young.
“It’s funny, really. I’m still hungry and I’m still scared, but now that you’re here I’m no longer that afraid. Because now, we can be monsters together!”
“Together?”
“Oh, uh, do you not want that? I know we got off on the wrong foot - sorry about crashing into you back then… I’m still working on my landing - but you didn't say anything when I decided to follow you and things have been so much better now that there’s two of us that I thought, maybe you wanted me around? Be my friend?”
“That sounds nice, actually.”
“Really?”
“Really. From now on, we will stay together. Always.”
The memory of the day you officially became traveling companions with the one now known as Jester surfaces from your mind, making you smile a little at the pleasant reminder. Jester would not fail you. He is your oldest friend who gives his all into keeping his circus family safe, including you, so you felt like you could rely on him to chase his words away. Be that through his words or his unchanging presence by your side, the leader of the freak circus of horrors would make sure you know you are truly wanted.
Besides, on a much more practical note, you figured you could use some help when it came to dealing with the whole Mane situation and who better to consult for advice than your leader? Jester had eyes and ears everywhere in the circus. It was his kingdom to rule and the purple clown was an observant king, so you had little doubt he was already aware of the situation and had formed a plan on how to deal with it effectively. It only makes sense you would seek his guidance on the matter.
Mind made up, you approach the purple tent and softly announce your presence.
“Jester, it’s the Clown. May I come in?”
Your leader does not give a verbal answer, but two fools emerge from within to open the tent flaps for you to enter. Said fools also leave as soon as the flaps close behind you, presumably following their master’s orders in wanting privacy.
[If Mane was kidnapped]
“I presume you are here to talk about the human’s escape?”
“How did you know?”
“I am very observant, cherished one. But you already know that, don’t you.”
“Right, well, should we do something? If Mane calls the police we will be forced to relocate, and I’m not sure if Pierrot will take it… gracefully.”
“Pierrot’s pet will not make that call.”
“And you are so certain because…?”
“Because I have seen their eyes. And they scream. They carry the fear of one who realizes something they shouldn’t have, and that will drive them to seek more to quell the dangerous thoughts starting to take root within their mind. By the time they have the answers they seek, it will be far too late.”
“Since when have you had the time to observe Mane up close?”
An eerie grin full of teeth is the only answer you receive.
[If Mane wasn’t kidnapped]
“I presume you are here to talk about Pierrot’s little pet wandering the grounds?”
“Wait, you knew? About Mane and Pierrot?”
“I am very observant, cherished one. But you already know that, don’t you?”
“Right, well, I assume you have a plan on how to deal with this? Preferably in a way that doesn’t involve disposing of the human?”
“And why would that be a problem?”
“...Have you seen Pierrot?”
“There are ways to get rid of them without provoking him.”
“...”
“I jest. I am well aware that the Pierrot will never be tamed again, and I see no reason to bother with a problem that will soon be rid of itself.”
“What do you mean? Should I be worried?”
An eerie grin full of teeth is the only answer you receive.
“My advice, dearest Clown, is that we wait.”
“Wait? As in, wait and see how things play out before doing anything hasty?”
“Exactly. Bil will be keeping an eye on our special guest until further notice, so there’s no reason to act out and alarm them of anything amiss. Although…”
A couple strides is all it takes for the purple clown to completely invade your personal bubble, eyes gleaming in the dark with excitement (at the prospect of what, you’re not sure).
“There’s more to this visit, isn’t there?”
You feel like prey on the verge of being devoured as Jester tilts your head up to meet his gaze.
“I can give you what you want, my cherished one. I can help you let go.”
“Are you trying to make me a Fool?”
The grip on your chin tightens slightly. Purple eyes burn into your own.
“Never.”
“Then why-”
“Because I adore you. Because you are mine.”
“You… adore me? Do you love me?”
The look in his eyes is enough of an answer.
‘I want to explore this.’ (Confirms Jester’s Route)
Yandere! Demon King x Isekai! Chosen One! Reader chose your own adventure story rating
I've been letting this post bake for 2 months now and based on the amount of likes it's gotten, I think it's safe to assume people are interested (THANK YOU ALL!!) 😊
To quickly summarize the plot for those unfamiliar with the original post, you get isekaied into your favorite fantasy novel as the chosen hero prophesied to defeat the Demon King. Said Demon happens to be the most powerful character in the current setting, as well as your blorbo, and you don't have isekai protagonist plot armor that gives you special powers to make your journey smooth. In order to survive, you decide to befriend the Demon King by allowing yourself to be haunted by him via cursed amulet and offering him genuine interest whenever the two of you interact. The Demon develops an obsession towards you since you're the only one who actually wants him as a person and not use him for his powers, and the story is basically you dealing with his obsession (and dark forces) while going on an adventure with your companions (some of whom will also be romanceable... and one of them will probably be borderline yandere as well).
That being said, I must ask you all a question. Since the main love interest will be yandere and since the story has potential to get pretty dark (as is standard for yandere stories), would you all prefer if I made the series 18+ and fully explored some of the darker themes (something like The Freak Circus)? Or should I keep it 16+ and keep it in a similar tone to a shounen (something like Boku no Hero Academia)?
I will do this poll again at a later date if there isn't a substantial enough number of votes to get a general consensus for a direction.
What rating would you prefer for a yandere!Demon King story?
Thank you to all who participated, nearly 200 votes is amazing!!
The majority of you wanted the series to be 18+, and since this blog is not technically adults only, I will be making a seprate blog for posting about this series that will be strictly MDNI. I will inform you all when I create the sideblog, but if all goes according to plan, it should be made available before the end of May.
Once again, thank you for your interest and I hope to greet you all soon with some yandere demon content.
If you enjoy my writing, please consider buying me a Ko-fi

cw: fem reader, non-human reader, reader has a toy name she is referred to (treat it as an alias), canon typical child abuse, yandere behavior, dark themes, morally grey reader (you took part in the Hour of Joy and were the Prototype's Angel), lots of suffering for everyone
The Prototype's obsession can be read as platonic or romantic so feel free to interpret it any way you like.
Thank you for your patience. Unfortunately, I am still suffering from writer's block but am slowly starting to get out of it. The name at the end is not a typo.

<1006, 1008 and 1188>
Scientist 1: Remind me why we’re here again?
Scientist 2: Because 1188 was found in front of 1008’s containment cell during his escape attempt, and we have plausible evidence to think that it wasn’t just a coincidence he ended up there.
Scientist 1: Yeah, I know that, but what are we doing with the Prototype? Shouldn’t we be interrogating Olivia? Or Catnap himself?
Scientist 2: Look, you’re new here, so let me break it down for you. 1188 is basically 1006’s lapdog, and 1006 is a highly intelligent and volatile experiment that shows an extreme attachment towards 1008. Since their separation, 1006 has made over 100 attempts at reaching 1008, all of which were effectively subdued, so it is not a stretch of the imagination that he would command 1188 to bring her to him.
Scientist 1: So, the reason for this breakout was Catnap trying to reach Olivia with orders from the Prototype?
Scientist 2: Partially.
Scientist 1: But how is that possible? We monitor these experiments all the time, when would the Prototype find the opportunity to stage this?
Scientist 2: Well, that’s what we’re here to find out.
– VHS End
The first thing to greet you when you eventually regain your consciousness is the heavy smell of blood and rot. It permeates the air around you, reminding you of your place in this hell built on top of the corpse of a thousand hopes and dreams.
The second thing to greet you is the feeling of coarse leather and heavy chains binding your limbs tightly to your body. Whoever brought you here had ensured that you were properly incapacitated, with your mobility being practically non-existent thanks to your binds.
The third thing to greet you, when you eventually gather enough strength to open your eyes, is the sight of a decrepit ceiling. Turning your head to the side, you are met with the most horrifying sight. For opposite you is Dogday hanging by his arms… with the lower half of his body missing.
That alone is enough to immediately send you into full alert.
“Dogday!”
Struggling to sit up, you call towards one of the first people to welcome you into the rebellion with extreme urgency. The big orange dog visibly perks up at the sound of his name, the black void of his eyes focusing onto your shocked form as he lifts his head from its previous position of staring at the ground.
“You’re awake.”
“What happened to you!?”
“The same thing that happened to all of us. Catnap is not kind to heretics of the Prototype, and this is what he does to those who insult his god.”
“Catnap? He did this?”
‘Theo would never…! Would he…?’
Theodore Grambell would never hurt his friends. But Catnap, the Prototype’s most devoted follower and your acting right-hand during the Hour of Joy, he might.
Dogday gives a humorless chuckle at your disbelief.
“You missed a lot since you were gone, Via. Ever since you left for the upper levels, Catnap’s been relentless in his pursuits for members of the rebellion. The Prototype wants you back, badly, and Catnap is nothing if not loyal to the will of his god. Anyone he could get his hands on was interrogated about your whereabouts, and failure to provide answers was met with a brutal execution. All of the others are gone now. I am the last of the Smiling Critters.”
“...no…”
You shake your head in horror, voice barely a whisper as the reality of the situation weighs down on you, and the orange Critter hangs his head in sorrow.
“I suppose he keeps me around to serve as an example to what happens when you dare to ‘tempt’ god’s most beloved angel.”
“You are correct, heretic.”
Both you and Dogday freeze at the sound of that raspy voice, your eyes screaming to reach each other as the reverberation of heavy footsteps begin to fill the corridor. Head held high with pride, Catnap saunters towards you like an angel of death, white eyes glaring daggers into Dogday’s skull as his massive body contorts in size to fit through the narrow hallway.
“Speak to her again, and I will tear out your throat.”
“Catnap-”
“Theo-”
You and Dogday call for him at the same time, but Catnap only gives you a brief glance in acknowledgement before turning his full attention back to Dogday.
“You and the rest of your vile ilk will not take her from us a second time. Your silver tongue will not lead the eternal one astray any longer.”
Dogday says nothing in response, simply opting to glare at the cat rather than waste his breath trying to argue with a zealot who was lost to his twisted devotion. Satisfied at his prisoner’s silence, Catnap turns his full attention towards you, eyes glowing in barely contained excitement at having succeeded in your capture.
“Eternal one.”
“Catnap.”
You would have called him Theo, but it did not feel appropriate to call him by the name of an innocent boy anymore. The purple Critter’s ear twitches slightly at your choice of using his new name (almost looking disappointed that he’s not Theo to you anymore).
“Come, our savior is waiting.”
And with that, your lungs are filled with red smoke as Catnap breathes poppy gas directly into your face in order to knock you out for transportation. You fight with all your willpower to stay awake, for you know that you would never be able to leave again if you allow Catnap to present you into the waiting arms of his god, but it’s a losing fight in the end.
As you are forced to drift into a deep sleep for the second time today, all you can think about is how you wish things could have been different.
–
The hour is late, the younger toys are all tucked into bed (or whatever passes for a bed nowadays) with Doey and Kissy diligently watching over them as the designated caretakers. Poppy and Giblet are busy discussing strategy for the upcoming battle against the Prototype, the first proper retaliation of the rebellion, while Hoppy leads the Smiling Critters on a small supply run for medical equipment that’s sure to be needed after tomorrow’s battle.
You stand next to Dogday, leaning against the wall as you watch some of the smaller toys swing crudely built weapons and shields of repurposed armor in a playfight against each other, mind drifting to far better times when those toys were children and their weapons were nothing but cheap plastic made deadly only through imagination.
“Thank you.”
Your companion says unprompted.
“For what?”
“For giving us hope.”
You turn towards him in confusion.
“All I did was let Giblet take apart my armor for some new tools and weapons.”
“You also gave Poppy a map detailing access points for the Prototype’s innermost lairs, and helped us rescue most of our hostages. A lot of us wouldn’t be here if it weren’t for you, Via. You gave us our friends back.”
“I only did what I should have done a long time ago.”
The words taste bitter in your mouth. A reminder of the ones that you failed because you were far too much of a coward to make tough decisions. You didn’t want to hurt anyone, postponing choosing a side for as long as you could until you could not ignore the Prototype’s tyranny any longer, foolishly thinking that there was a world where everyone could get along if you played your role of a mediator correctly. But the reveal of Sawyer’s survival and the Prototype’s continued experiments brought you crashing down to reality, and you were finally forced to choose between living in a false paradise and doing what was right.
No matter what you chose, you would end up hurting the ones left on the other side, and if becoming a traitor in the eyes of your family was unavoidable, you would rather fight for freedom than become like the scientists of Playtime who allowed the experiments with cruel indifference. Better to be a monster who bites back the hand that kills than a monster who hides behind a smiling face.
“Hey.”
Dogday gently calls to you, bringing you out of your melancholic stupor.
“Don’t be too hard on yourself. You’re here now, and for once in our lives we actually have a fighting chance thanks to you. And that’s not just because of the things you’ve brought with you, Via. You could have lived in comfort, worshiped by the Prototype’s side, never having to worry about if you’ll live to see another day, yet you chose to come to us. The fact that you did, the fact that the most beloved of his angels saw us as something worth fighting for, that made us believe in ourselves far more than you realise. And we really needed that.”
The eternal smile on Dogday’s face seems brighter for some reason, the Bigger Body radiating the warmth of the sun, much like his cartoon counterpart.
“Via, from the bottom of my heart, wake up.”
“Wake up….”
“Wake up…!”
–
“Wake up!”
And just like that, you are jolted back into reality. Standing before you, awkwardly hunched over your previously unconscious form, is the intruder you had seen from your time back on the first floor. From their hand hangs a phone, a functioning communication device used in place of a walkie talkie, and from that phone springs forth the voice of a young boy who seems equal parts relieved and excited at your return to consciousness.
“Phew! Thank goodness you woke up, Via! I was starting to think you might have left off to sleep-land forever!”
You know that boy. You knew him from your time as Playcare’s guardian and as one of Poppy’s most trusted friends.
