how to tell you're living in a dystopia: working your contracted hours and meeting your job description is considered "quitting"
People on this site can and will argue until the cows come home about whether Trump won in 2016 due to racial resentment and/or socioeconomic status (which are both relevant elements for sure), but it's really frustrating to me that (male) pundits are so loathe to acknowledge the role misogyny played in the election.
Imo, the 2016 election was a referendum not only on Hillary Clinton but also the millions of women who supported her. Sometimes, I look back on election night 2016 pictures of the Trump and Hillary camps on election night and I'm like, they really hate us, don't they?
One of the most obvious consequences of Trump winning is Roe v. Wade being overturned, which is a blatant attack on American women, but I just don't understand why it's become gauche to remotely acknowledge that electing a man who bragged about sexually assaulting women was also an attack on us.
The only times I've seen women of all ages openly crying in public are the day after the 2016 election, the day Brett Kavanaugh was confirmed, and the day the Dobbs decision dropped. All 3 are due to Donald Trump being elected in 2016, and I'm never forgiving those responsible.
each and every day i believe in the scum manifesto more and more
if a man yells when hes aorund me i should be able to punch him
In one of my developmental psych courses, we learned that young boys (early to mid grade school/primary school) rate physical aggression as more hurtful than verbal aggression, while girls rate them as equally hurtful. People tend to look down on girls for their responses in those studies-- "Silly little girls, physical aggression obviously hurts more! Don't they know 'sticks and stones'?" It doesn't help that those studies are often presented alongside the fact that girls tend to use more social and relational aggression as bullying tactics, while boys use physical and direct verbal aggression. People see all of this in a misogynistic light, believing that girls are ridiculous and catty for perceiving aggression and acting out in the ways they do... as if this is not an issue of socialization, something that those judgemental adults contribute to and do nothing to change in the first place. Even worse, grown women, including mothers and teachers, laugh along with men about this matter, not realizing that they are affected by this difference in perception for their whole lives.
This difference translates into a sizeable factor in cross-sex social dynamics later in life. Women and men can hurl some horrible, toxic, abusive language at each other, but in the end, the men will be much more inclined to pat themselves on the back for using their words instead of their fists. They are taught to minimize and dismiss the impacts of their aggressive talk, because they can't compare it to physical violence. In those men's minds, they did not escalate the conflict to unacceptable levels, and so they must be in the right for that alone. This means that we are all socialized to give men a psychological upper hand, a sort of protective factor, in aggressive situations, whether or not the typical physical advantages ever come into play.
It also means that, if you feel like punching a man when he is verbally aggressive in your presence, you just have a strong desire to try to show him the harm he's causing you, in a way that he might understand.
I keep seeing videos and posts about how white women weaponize tears and I do agree that white women have used tears to manipulate situations a lot especially when it comes to racism and trying to use tears as a get out of jail free card or to harm people of color especially black men. But white men are now trying to say that white women, and women in general are weaponizing tears against them and that women are using crying during arguments and fights as emotional abuse. This is straight up misogyny. White men do not get to take a valid commentary on racism and flip it to be oppressive to males. Men are not oppressed when they make women cry.
children and teenage boys being allowed to misbehave and generally harrass eachother and teenage girls is the biggest reason why men are the way they are
Leftist men be like "I'm more perverted and I hate women more than conservative men but I somehow view myself as morally superior"
Whereas conservative men are at least honest about their desire to aquire their very own wife/servant/broodmare/mommy. Leftists want a wife/servant/broodmare/mommy and they want her to split the bills 50/50 while doing all of thr housework and childcare
staunchly against toddlers being given phones. stop that. give them little stuffed animals to play pretend with. fucking talk to them for a second even. stop giving them your phone. stop giving kids phones and ipads. stop it.
Mfs can theorize and write essays all day but in the end lesbians cannot and do not, under any circumstance, want to have sex with a man and gay men cannot and do not, under any circumstance, want to have sex with a woman. If you believe otherwise you don’t believe in homosexuality and you’re homophobic. That’s it boss
Anaïs Nin, from “The Diary of Anaïs Nin, 1934–1939“
“Men do not seek to oppress women because (women) are inferior, mentally unstable, unreliable, childish and stupid - they seek to oppress women because they recognise our power. No, men have systematically and strategically spent time and money in saying that women are inferior, mentally unstable, unreliable, childish and stupid - so that they can oppress us. In order to control women, they need to convince billions of people that we were in need of control. Millennia of smear campaigns against women which have successfully positioned them as ‘less than’, were only required because women are not less than at all.”
- Dr Jessica Taylor, Sexy But Psycho
“so you say that trans women are not women because they don’t have female biology… so you’d say that women who have had hysterectomies are not real women either, right?”
the word “hysterectomy” comes from the greek word “hystera”, meaning womb. not only are women who have had hysterectomies fully women, but ONLY women can ever have hysterectomies.
in fact.. don’t trans men get hysterectomies as part of masculinizing bottom surgery? isn’t the fact that their wombs and ovaries make them feel less manly the only reason they get hysterectomies (besides the fact that the testosterone is slowly killing them)? isn’t it you, actually, who thinks a hysterectomy has the power to move a person some degree closer to malehood?
Gosh how could this have happened.
Even if sex work was this wonderful job with no abuse and plenty of benefits I’d still be against it. I’m against sex being painted as labour and as labour that could be sold. “yOu’RE gOnNa gIVe pUSSy fOR fReE? dOn”t coME afTER mY bAG” it’s not particularly revolutionary to paint sex as a burden that women are supposed to just accept for resources. Why is everybody against love and sex as good and rewarding? This nihlism trying to paint itself as realism is so disgusting to me.
