I need Charlie and Angel dust to have a full disclosure episode like Connie and Steven got
before I start this ramble, I wanna say I do not at all ship Charlie and Angel, I see them as siblings! But I really love the ship Connie and Steven! So with that out of the way let’s begin
In Steven Universe episode 50 season 1, we got an episode called “full disclosure” now for people who haven’t watch the show or haven’t gotten to this episode I’ll try my best to keep it spoiler free
the episode is Steven avoiding Connie because he’s worry if she found out about the danger he’s in she will freak out and might get hurt. This episode like a lot of episodes has a song, the song is named after the title “full disclosure” and it’s pretty much Steven not answering any of Connie’s calls and singing about how he's worried about Connie getting hurt over his problems (this kid needs therapy) and the episode ends with Steven telling Connie everything and by doing that they got a better friendship and Steven feels a lot better!
now, What does this have to do with the princess of hell and a Spider porn star? Well in episode 4 a fan favorite, Charlie comes to the porn studio that Angel works at, Things didn’t go well at all. Angel is clearly stressed out because he’s worried that Valentino will hurt her like Val hurts him. Charlie accidentally sets the studio on fire along with a bunch of other problems, and Valentino calls Angel into his dressing room and abuses him. The part that’s really sad is that, even though Angel is getting hit by Valentino he is begging him not to hurt Charlie. And then the scene after this is also cruel, Valentino and Angel come back and Valentino throws Angel on the floor and yells at everyone to restart. And Charlie goes full demon mode after seeing 1% of that abuse. But Angel yells at her to stop, because to Angel the only other thing scarier then Valentino is his love ones getting hurt. So he uses his amazing acting skills to seem mad at Charlie, Charlie feels so horrible because she thinks she just made things worse and she runs out a mess of tears, while Angel looks himself like he’s trying not to cry. Obviously if you seen the episode you know what happens next, so I’ll skip to the ending since that’s what this ramble is about. After husk and angel return to the hotel after singing loser baby, Charlie runs up to Angel and hugs him apologizing a bunch, Angel pats her on her head saying it’s alright and thanks for worrying about him. The episode ends with Vaggie carrying a sobbing Charlie and Angel and husk getting a drink!
Now this just alone you can see all the parallels to “ masquerade” and “full disclosure”
Steven and Angel both are worried about their situations hurting their friend, to the point they push them away and were only able to feel better once they talked about it. However
we got that wonderful musical number with husk and angel, but we didn’t really get to see Charlie and Angel talk about what happened after that. And I think it’s pretty safe to assume that they both feel a ton of guilt from that experience. I’m not at all saying the ending should’ve been different I love the way it went! But I want an episode that is like “full disclosure” I want angel avoiding Charlie because he doesn’t want her to get hurt, and I want him to lie and said he doesn’t wanna be friends anymore to keep her safe, and what I want most is for them to just talk. Not about how Angel got into this situation, but that he wanted to keep her safe and why he’s doing the thing he does. I really want that! I want this to be a whole different episode about them just being able to get closer and for Angel to realize he does have more things to live for. I want Charlie to be there and for them to get closer that’s all

to anyone that thinks "poison" glorifies abusive relationships:
it depicts the high highs and the low lows of abusive relationships. and the way the song is written depicts a downward spiral.

this is where angel acknowledges the highs of this relationship. fame. money that fuels his drug addiction. sex that satisfies his sex addiction. he's hot shit, and he's getting anything he could possibly want because he's owned by val.

while angel is addicted to sex, sometimes it's too rough for him. he's too tired. it's too much. but he can still take it. it gets him his cash. his fame. so it's fine. it's all fine. just take it. it's what val wants, and val has given him everything. and he'll keep giving him everything if he just keeps taking it - on and off camera.

he can't take it anymore. he really was willing to do anything for some money, wasn't he? apparently "anything" included leaving work with black eyes, sore parts, and threats ringing in his ears.
he's getting money. he's getting coke. people love him.
but it doesn't feel good anymore.
but maybe it will… it's felt good before, after all.
and consider the visuals.
angel's dancing. he looks amazing. he looks hot. and then there's the background - the pain. he's dancing in front of his work like he's proud of it.
it's performative, just like angel.
and then, he gets dragged out of the spotlight by val, clutching him by his front… the same man who put angel there.
