The last thing I have to say regarding the so called “jokes”.

This topic comes up every 4 business days, it’s actually exhausting, just like last week the “jokes” are still tasteless, unfunny and offensive.

We can discuss as many times as we want but that wont make a difference if anything it just gets people riled up. The last time we spoke of the issue we were all so divided people some people took it as an opportunity to pounce on other members and act as antis. therefore the message didn’t stick and even when people suggested sending messages to their bbl to make them aware, a lot of others still didn’t participate because they didn’t agree with the whole thing entirely and claimed that we were overstepping boundaries. 

I could type up a storm regarding boundaries but that wouldn’t dent it. at the end of the day if I called your mom a pig you’d be throwing hands, yet you claim its not offensive.

p:s his skzoo animal is a pig and rabbit because initially he drew a pink rabbit and it got confused with a pig and that’s how we got to where we are now, even then he has always stated that its 1% pig and 99% rabbit.

also stop acting like antis at certain group members in attempt to ‘elaborate’ whatever it is you claim to be on about, it’s not just one member that contributes, and it’s not about hating on them, it’s about making them aware that it’s offensive, don’t know how that’s ever going to happen when people will do anything but admit that they are capable of being wrong and imperfect, text me when that happens. until then i will continue with my regular happy posts. stay safe yall.

Sorry but I am still on this matter and this statement rubs on me like sandpaper.

To be clear, I understand what boundaries are as much as the next person. I however also understand the term “evasion” which is what I keep coming across lately.

I would like to point out a double standard I took note of recently. A member of a different K-pop group has been the subject of various body shaming jokes and fans took note and requested that the members stop and reflect on their actions as such behaviour is harmful and unhealthy. Some of stays I interact with also agreed to this matter, and this has happened before with so many other different groups.However in the case of Stray Kids, it is suddenly viewed different because according to some “Changbin is a grown man and if he was genuinely upset he would have just said so and they would have stopped and it’s their relationship and we cannot meddle, and we should all respect our boundaries”, interesting perspective I have to point out. Very very very interesting.

I would like to then ask a couple of simple questions for reflection.

* Are the ‘jokes’ they have made considered a form of body shaming?

* Do you think these ‘jokes’ ridicule?

* Do you find these ‘jokes’ funny?

* Would you like your appearance to be compared to an elephant, pig or walrus?

* On occasion how often do your closest mates laugh at you/about you in front of large crowds and does that make you feel good and jolly?

* In instances when you’ve found yourself uncomfortable how often have you spoken up?!

* If ever you have spoken up, how often have you been heard and understand and the matter resolved?

* Do you find joy in being the butt of a joke?

* Do you often feel the need to ignore toxic/ unhealthy behaviours simply because they don’t involve you, even though you may be able to contribute to their change?

* Do you recognise that acknowledging that the people you admire can make mistakes can be viewed as healthy behaviour?

why is it easier for people to point out the faults of other people/groups but not their own faves…it would appear as if boundaries only exist on one side of the room and you lot want to talk about un-biased opinions. If you do not find the whole issue problematic that’s fine really, good on you but don’t try to make it seem like everyone else is out of pocket for feeling some type of way.

As I stated in my previous post, aside from just Changbin these jokes are awfully tasteless and mean and are possibly impactful on a lot more people than you might be aware of. It’s not funny and most importantly it’s not behind the scenes, it’s in front of thousands if not millions of varied crowds, with different ages and different minds, upbringings, habits and capacity. No two people are the same and no one is absorbing this at the same extent. Respectfully it’s not lighthearted to everyone’s ear.

The weight/pig/Walrus Jokes.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinions on this matter and I am very entitled to ignore and discard any that I don’t agree with, that being said:

For the longest time the group members have been passing around jokes about Changbin’s appearance and weight and comparing him to either a pig or walrus. I for one never found the jokes funny and lots of stays pointed out how “unfunny” these were, the jokes continued and eventually fans started making similar jokes directed at Changbin and judging from his reactions when the said jokes were mentioned, it was clear that he wasn’t a big fan, eventually he stated that he does not like the nickname walrus…and would appreciate it if fans do not put that on banners at concerts and if they did, he would just ignore. People still didn’t take this seriously and continued and every so often, a weight joke is passed, directed at the same man who shifts and smiles awkwardly each time. I have always had a very clear line between idols and myself and I do not ever try to guess what they are feeling/thinking. In this case it is somewhat different because his dislike is evident and the members themselves stated how he doesn’t like the joke, so I guess that says everything. A lot of stays claim that we cannot understand the relationship and bond they share and therefore it’s wrong of us to want them to stop with these insensitive jokes, whilst this comment is harmless and seemingly aimed at keeping peace, I think it lacks the understanding of the situation as a whole. Stays who find this problematic are not asking them to apologise for laughing at their friend.

We would appreciate it if they understood just how harmful and mean the “jokes can be”

When I first started high school, I was very slim and tall and when I joined hockey my friends would come to my games and scream the most ridiculous and rude comments about my appearance, comparing me to various things, objects and even animals and even though I would smile and laugh it off, it played a huge role in how I felt about myself because I always felt like maybe I should eat more, maybe I should cover up, maybe I should stop playing hockey altogether, and I never realised until later.

The idea behind humour aimed at your appearance is that you look unappealing, displeasing/ridiculous etc, and because you’re so ‘unacceptable’ it’s within our rights to make every joke under the sun about you, which is wild if you ask me…I cannot understand why you guys think this is normal, they don’t call him a walrus or pig because they think he’s pink and likes to swim! You all know that, and these jokes go way beyond just Changbin, they have such a large fan base growing every single day and you know what?!? There’s people who hear those jokes and think “damn I look a little like that…do I also look like a walrus/pig?! Is that what other people think of me?!” And so many other thoughts. I don’t think I have to explain how these things can really mess with you and in-still very harmful and unhealthy behaviours.

You people bashed Kim for talking about how she lost weight, talking about how harmful it is but you refuse to see how harmful it is to be the butt of a joke based on your appearance in front of thousands of people cheering and screaming at your expense?!?

I promise you, these jokes have looong term effects, just because you’ve never experienced it doesn’t mean we are all in the same boat, if anything I am happy for you but keep in mind there’s millions of people absorbing the content each day.

Accepting that this is wrong doesn’t mean you’re interfering in their relationship, it simply means that you’re looking out for yourself and everyone around you. So please spread and let other people know what’s up.

Serious: I hope everyone understands that people have different opinions and I am allowed to feel however I want to feel about anything and so I wish not to be judged for what I’m about to say but understood. If you are sensitive and easily provoked please don’t continue to read because I do not wish to raffle any feathers and please remember that I am and will remain as a stay.

I literally started stanning for the music and I am still very much into it for the music, therefore I get affected a lot when they suddenly just switch up. Music is subjective yall and I understand this thoroughly so take my opinion with some grain of salt. kpoppies largely categorise their songs as noise music which only applies to only some songs, I understand that we can’t love everything we hear and so maybe this is because I don’t enjoy a particular genre but I cannot stand this one particular genres of theirs.

This genre being “bad b!tch music”

Explain to me how I’m supposed to be okay after songs like Ssick, charmer, ttath, venom, pacemaker, cheese etc 😭like my nerves can’t take such bangers. I don’t like that they release all these bangers and pretend they did nothing, like can y’all step tf up and stop being humble because the streets getting too brave these days. DEAR KPOP STAN (I mean no disrespect)

maybe just a little.

• You are not an industry insider, you’ve just spent too much time writing random numbers on Wikipedia.

• Charts aren’t the determinant of good music, it’s all subjective.

• Kpop is literally just music

• Younger groups don’t owe older groups anything

• Groups from smaller companies aren’t more hardworking, more talented or ill-treated they are just less fortunate for ending up in their little back door companies.

• Being a kpop stan since 2007 doesn’t mean anything, we didn’t ask,

• Chart manipulation and fraud aren’t child’s play and they don’t mean what you people seem to think they mean.

• Learn to compliment your faves without comparing and mentioning other artists.

• Your professional dancer status dates back to summer school dance classes in 4th grade so please get a grip on yourself.

• Music is subjective so stop trying to convince everyone that your group are the “standard”

• You lot are desperate to be copied but you should know groups using similar filters, locations and props aren’t ‘plagiarising’ from each other these people passing around sets and editors like blunts.

• Great if you think a certain idol is ugly but frankly speaking maybe you should take a good look in the mirror before bringing up other people’s looks.

• Rap in kpop is messy, just because your faves are rapping slow doesn’t mean they are technique gods or rap legends, just because they rap with their natural pitchy voice with breaks for air inbetween doesn’t mean they are versatile and just because they are fast doesn’t mean they are the best. Half they lyrics literally read “bust bomb, chicken fling filling” and I just outrapped.

• Using the term flop to describe albums you hate is below the barrel stupid, admit to your difference in taste and move along.

• Half these vocal kings and queens you’re naming are me with a nail in my foot screaming for help. Respect yourself.

• It’s okay to stan a group without knowing anything about them. try it sometime, way less chaos.

• Your obsession with numbers and milestones is creepy, what do you mean by “velkro was the first male kpop idol to walk on the left side of the road at 5am with the sun at 45 degrees angle and 20 degrees celcius with a red cap for 3 minutes”. These stats always wildin.

• You are on the internet gatekeeping colours and edits…babe…you are not in the position to call anyone uncool.

• You claim you hate a certain group but here you are unhinged at everything they do…it’s called obsession.

• The offbeat argument as you pretend you have a certificate in music and are pretending as if you didn’t just confuse being offbeat to –hearing the backing track.

CHART MANIPULATION

Correct me if I am wrong but…wasn’t there a large mob of know it all’s talking about how stray kids doesn’t usually chart well in Korea because they don’t have a lot of fans, and how they are only famous outside their home country and people were throwing around words like “flop” etc, at the same time stray kids wasn’t charting in billboard or anything simply because they didn’t have a US label or distributor and I read somewhere that album sales that reflect on billboard have to be bought from the US Stores to US addresses ,since albums couldn’t be bought at target and local record stores, you can see why they didn’t chart there either. Despite the fact that there were a lot of albums bought in general.

Now with this comeback things have changed, for one they finally have a US distributor and fans in the US can actually buy the album there and those sales can reflect on billboard, right?

Accusing stray kids of chart manipulation and claiming “Sale are counted at the POS (point-of-sale) so they basically set up shop in the US,scanned all sales as US sales then shipped them internationally.”

Now can someone make this make sense to me: how are their”handful of Korean fans “ bulk buying the album from the so called made up set up shop in the US enough for it to react on billboard, y’all literally think it’s that easy… like sis if it was that easy why isn’t everyone doing it? Also why are they making “a shop” when albums can now be bought at targets and local record stores?

The fact that y’all are going back on your words is my last stretch, why won’t people go back to acknowledging that yes the boys have a large fan base overseas and now that those fans are able to buy the album at their closest target or whatever it only makes sense for them to start charting.. how are the dots not connecting?

If y’all wanna talk numbers then let’s do that, “they don’t even have 20k unique listeners”

There’s clearly steady growth in the numbers on listeners(Spotify) so obviously that reflects in the number of streams they get now in comparison to what they used to get before.

I just don’t see why you people literally try to act like you know it all and only your faves should be successful and if anyone else even tries a little you all try to knit pick at it, in case you didn’t know what it takes to chart on billboard don’t worry I got you

Now if it still isn’t making sense to you then here are some definitions of “Chart Manipulation” to help you…because I care.

I have done my level best to make y’all understand and step away from kpoppies and their knowledge from charts that they get from their baby siblings and fellow stans who know only as much as they learnt in preschool.

Don’t let these people discourage you and make you feel bad simply because they have different opinions about the things that you like. It’s literally just their opinions and doesn’t change anything for anyone with even half a brain.

The album is insane and I find myself listening to the whole thing in one go without even taking note because each song gels so well with the others and they are all so good. Listen to my podcast for an active reaction and a review.

Praise them all you want about how talented, well rounded and versatile they are but at some point you have to wake up and touch some grass.

4th gen this, 4th gen that. Stray kids isn’t as good as you all think they are and you have to accept that eventually because they are much better than you could imagine. Love these men aging like fine wine, they keep topping themselves with every single comeback. HOW TO STAN HARDER?

IS THE RAPLINE GOOD?

No that is the one thing I can guarantee. The Rap line isn’t good, its phenomenal. They are literally the hottest thing since sliced bread. What do you mean by having so many bars and such rhymes and the flow…these men are sick down to the very core of the word itself.

VISUAL HOLES

Abso-fing-lutely. If visual holes means absolutely breathtaking and having no bad days ever then yes, that’s what they offer. I have nothing more to say about their visuals because what justice could I ever do them?

Again I’m clowning

The hotel room is dark with the tint of the red light canvasing it, similar to the silhouette challenge, they shoot the opening scene by the balcony of the hotel room where bang chan wearing what appears to be nightwear with the shirt buttoned low, he breathes out and you can see his breathe float in the air and the camera shots flash through various images of bang chan, hyunjin and their respective partners. Then bang chan leans on the balcony and starts singing his part, “I cannot breathe…” and his partner comes up behind him dressed in a nightdress and a long matching nightgown, she lays her hands on his back and slowly leans in on him in what may appear to be a hug from behind in tune with the song. Then we see scenes from what should be their love story. Which starts with them meeting in rather cliché manner at a bar where he approaches her and we quickly go on to see hyunjin and his partner who are both in a situation similar to that which is being experienced by the first couple, except on this one the girlfriend is crying while lying beside him in a hotel room with similar style while hyunjin is facing the other end of the bed. And the memories of their story flash and there are all the beautiful memories of both of them piling in when the part of the song that goes, “I’m going crazy now…” begins. When the “Shh “ part in the song comes, the memories halt and in the present timeline chan turns to embrace his lover and hyunjin turns and looks to the side of the bed where his girlfriend lays silently crying. And then we flash to a dance break of both the couples where the boys are in their tuxedos and the girls in ball gowns. And they dance as if compelled and basically sway across the dance floor and there is scene in slowmo where chan’s partner in running through the hotel’s hallways in her ball gown. Then their memories come back to screen but this time they are less happy and its all the things that went wrong in their story, you can see flashes on fights and arguments. When they say “make you feel my love”, you can see them chained and their partners pulling them back with all the strength they can master. Similar to how we see chan pulling hyunjin in the beginning of the video, they keep wanting to pull away but obviously it is with fail and eventually they give up and fall on the ground, during the next verse, “tell me you hate me”, you can see chan crawling like a cat towards his partner and they are both dressed in what may look a bit tattered and worn but can still be considered sexy with teasing reveals of the skin , slowly and menacing and she does the same and they approach each other, this scene occurs in a dark room, not a warehouse looking dark room but more like a lounge area of the hotel room and when they finally do reach each other they begin to caress each other’s faces and bodies, hyunjin and his partner are dancing at the edge of rooftop, and they move back and forth on the ledge as if they are on a sort of balance beam, they are obviously dressed in similar fashion with minor changes to distinct the outfits, their movement back and forth involve a lot of eye contact and a lot of handling as it would represent the struggle of not wanting to let go. They remain in those scenes but at some point they stop just dancing and caressing and instead start communicating and you can see their lips move in soft conversation, while chan and his partner completely stop and instead interlink their legs as they move closer to each other to speak in soft and hushed tones, hyunjin and his partner eventually stop moving on the ledge and fall sideways into what should be the ground but the scene completely changes and instead they fall sideways into the bed and they face each other and continue their deep conversations, at the very end, the scene ends with both couples in tight embrace
