MACKLEMORE’S “THRIFT SHOP” GOES PLATINUM

As of last Thursday, Macklemore and his musical partner Ryan Lewis have sold one million copies of their single, “Thrift Shop.” Macklemore and Lewis are the first Seattle artists to reach platinum with a single since Sir Mix A Lot’s “Back Got Back.” The single was released in August 2012 and has been on the Billboard charts for 12 weeks where it recently locked the No. 10 spot.

LOSTPROPHETS SINGER CHARGED WITH SEX CRIMES

The 35-year-old singer, Ian Watkins, has been charged with sexual offenses against children. According to the police, Watkins is facing charges of “conspiracy to engage in sexual activity with a female under 13 and possession/distribution of indecent images of children.”

NICO VEGA SET TO JOIN IMAGINE DRAGONS ON TOUR

The LA based band, Nico Vega, are set to join Imagine Dragons on a 24-city North American tour beginning on February 8, 2013.  The band was recently named “Rising Star of 2013″ by Amazon and will be releasing their EP,  Fury Oh Fury, in February.
