What kind of roles are the people who go to tour have?

There’s the tour manager and their team who oversee and supervise everything. They schedule and plan the tour, oversee finances, deal with promoters and venue managers, hire everyone... basically ensure that everything happens when and where it’s supposed to happen.

There’s the production manager and their team who oversee the production of the show. That includes lighting techs, riggers, the sound techs, the team looking after staging, team looking after video display etc.

There are all the roadies and techs for the instruments - i.e. guitar, drums, and keyboard techs.

There’s the tour publicist and the advance person who goes ahead of the tour to make sure everything’s set up as it should be.

There is catering, wardrobe, hair & makeup. There’s the transport team and all the drivers.There is the merchandise team...

Basically....a lot, but obviously the number of personnel depends on how big and expensive the tour is. For example, a Taylor Swift tour is going to bear little resemblance to some small indie rock band. You’re unlikely to see Wardrobe, Hair & Makeup for a rock band doing a small club tour, and most of the roles would overlap; e.g. the tour manager would also be the production manager and might do some roadie-ing, the lighting tech will look after video etc. But hopefully this gives you an idea.
