does anyone else feel like we need to raise the standard for writing quality across all mediums like right now

this the vampire sam reid season to me has been back to back 1 meh-to-flop episode followed by 1 hold up pausing to process a thought hey is this good? this is actually good?! episode crazy rollercoaster and it has not slowed down. like objectively I'm having fun but in s1-2 I never had to sit down and reflect on whether the 60 mins I just watched had merit or I was just being stunned into silence by the blond demon saying labubu dubai chocolate serving cunt era. etc. the meta jokes too are kinda getting on my nerves

#ep 6 tbh was a mix like I did enjoy some scenes even the more controversial one has merit to me but the aftermath was iffy #like it feels like the details are never ironed out and the scenes don't stick the landing which I've never felt was a problem before #also tragically I'm not liking looney tunes devilsminion. why am I watching a speedrun of the cliff notes #to the point even their cartoonishly evil actions don't even elicit a giggle. :(#don't let me start on super mario gabi again that has been a travesty unfortunately.
