     ❝      what  the  fuck---  what  the  fuck  did  i  say!?     ❞     a  whisper  SNAPPED  over  at  the  hulking  man  attempting  to  creep  closer,  the  agent  stumbling  a  few  steps  away.  has  there  ever  been  a  man  more  off - putting  than  mark  fucking  hoffman?  the  very  sight  of  him  causes  an  upward  twitch  of  the  lip,  brows  pinched  together,  &  a  SHARP  look  in  peter’s  eyes.  true--  he  is  injured,  &  a  bloodied  hand  presses  to  his  wounded  side.  but  the  prospect  of  death  is  honestly  more  inviting  than  accepting  a  hand  out  from  hoffman.     ❝      get  the  fuck  away  from  me.  i  don’t  need  your  help.     ❞

a  few  notes  on  peter  being  on  the  spectrum  &  how  that  relates  to  his  behavior:

strahm  doesn’t  like  to  look  people  in  the  face,  especially  when  he’s  talking.  eye  contact  makes  him  uncomfortable  most  of  the  time,  so  he  often  keeps  his  head  down  or  turned  away.

he  never  goes  anywhere  without  his  pen  /  it’s  his  favorite  fidget. 

peter  can  be  difficult  to  get  along  with,  due  to  his  struggles  in  social  settings.  he  can  come  off  as  arrogant  &  self - centered,  he  often  will  talk  over  people,  &  can  be  extremely  resistant  to  working  with  others.  the  exception  to  this  of  course  is  his  partner  lindsey,  who  over  the  past  five  years  working  together  he  has  become  comfortable  around. 

strahm  likes  things  done  HIS  way  &  he  thinks  other  methods  are  less  efficient.  because  of  this,  he  can  be  resistant  to  working  with  others  or  accepting  help,  which  has  gotten  him  in  trouble  more  than  once.  because  of  his  need  for  control,  when  things  are  OUT  of  his  control  he  becomes  agitated  &  hot - tempered.  though,  it’s  important  to  note  he’s  not  actually  a  VIOLENT  person.

please  don’t  touch  him  without  his  permission.  peter  is  made  extremely  uncomfortable  by  physical  touch,  unless  it’s  by  someone  he  trusts--  perez,  for  example.

     meticulous,  is  how  he’d  describe  it  /  the  way  he  studies  the  file  before  him.  the  coffee  on  his  desk  has  long  gone  cold,  peter’s  gaze  cold  &  seemingly  lost  in  thought---  every  now  &  then  a  tongue  is  swiped  over  the  pad  of  his  thumb,  flipping  the  page.  a  SHADOW  darkens  the  door  to  the  office,  &  though  strahm  doesn’t  truly  desire  to  be  distracted  from  his  work,  dark  eyes  raise  to  acknowledge  the  intrusion.  

     ❝     detective  hoffman.     ❞     is  what  he  says  in  greeting,  if  it  could  even  be  described  as  such.  it  was  as  ICY  as  the  rest  of  him,  lacking  in  enthusiasm  &  flat.  only  a  second  of  his  full  attention  is  given  to  the  other  man,  peter  sitting  up  a  bit  straighter  in  his  chair,  returning  to  his  file.  a  pen  is  clicked  between  his  fingers,  a  soft  sigh  breathed  out.     ❝     something  i  can  do  for  you?     ❞
