Hi gamers, earlier this month I suffered an injury at work (an open fracture!) and wasn’t able to work half the month. I got paid today but I only have ~$600 which isn’t even half of my rent due at the beginning of next month. Even though I’m still healing from my injury, I have no other option but to return to work. i love how there's the genre of fix-it fic where the author goes into great granular detail of how our heroes manage to avoid or undo whatever character death or other unpopular choice occurred, in a way that abides by the laws of the fictional universe and definitely required a substantial plot outline, and then there are fix-it fics where the author just went "that's bullshit and didn't happen," and we as readers all go "agreed. carry on."

What Alice Oseman and the entire Heartstopper team have done is staggering. Every episode is brimming with tenderness and precious nuance as every character’s story unfolds. And the world is realistic enough, but also insanely gentle in that they avoided so many pitfalls people sometimes fall into while telling queer — and especially trans — stories. But I never felt like I was not being held safely in her hands as she guided the whole thing through. It’s a massive achievement to not only create multiple volumes of a graphic novel telling a specific story, but to also shepherd the whole thing onto television.

hey all hate to be ebegging again but idk if/when my unemployment is gonna come in and i desperately need to find a new apartment because my housemate is genuinely making me feel unsafe. he was supposed to self isolate because he went to a rave unmasked basically, and he didn't and overstepped his bounds by yelling at both me and my friend, who had just moved out of the house. this guy has had the cops called on him before because he was being so aggressive and doesn't give a shit about anyone's safety but his own.

anyway i need to find a new apartment asap and currently have like $100 to my name, so at this point anything counts.
