⚡ NAVA Skaðablót 2019 ⚡
For the second year, we invited visual artists to Reykjavik for a collaborative audiovisual performance. Due to Sónar being canceled we had to get creative and instead co-created a unique event together with Plútó and the alternative cinema Bíó Paradís.
Big thanks to all the artists that participated, especially Jana Spacelight, Diego López Bueno and Van Ta who made the trip to Reykjavik. Thanks also Oscar Gränse who stepped up and did a 6-hour set to the most intense techno, and Jonatan Van Hove and Iris Hrund who made a beautiful performance with live games + live music.
Thank you also the whole crew: Atli Bollason, Rasmus Ottesen Stride, Katrín Hauksdóttir, Owen Hindley and Nanna Gunnars for giving it your all!
Thank you Juliette Louste and Alexander Wallin for knocking out a 1-week mini-residency together with Owen and myself - onwards and upwards!
Also, Anna Weisling who traveled all the way from the US to help create the audiovisual artist manifesto, and who created a very cool and including meetup and conversation together with Rasmus.
Filming done by Birta Rán Björgvinsdóttir, grading by David Skotteand editing by me.
More thanks and credits in the video.
Roskilde Festival 2018
Nordic Audiovisual Artists (NAVA) is a community for artists working at the intersection of music and visual arts. Its first real-world manifestation happened during Sónar Reykjavik 2018 where invited artists, together with the NAVA team, performed and outlined a framework for the community's existence and future development.
2nd year of the project at Roskilde Festival.
The goal of the project is to facilitate the future of creative collaboration between musicians and visual artists. The Countdown stage at Roskilde Festival holds the frame for magic to happen. / Målet for projektet er at udvikle fremtidens kreative samarbejder og opsigtsvækkende koncertoplevelser ved at skabe rammerne for musik- og VJ talenter at mødes og optræde sammen på Countdown.
The project received funding from Fonden Roskilde Festival. / Projektet modtog støtte fra Fonden Roskilde Festival.

For the Book launch of Startup guide vol. 2 we created a video booth using a Makey Makey, a webcam and VDMX5. The Installation made it possible for the audience to record smaller video snippets of themselves and their friends. It created a fun and playful vibe and people immersed themselves in the party at a totally new level. They identified with the brand, became one with the experience and had the opportunity to become the centre of attention. in the party.
An interactive art-piece installed at a pop-up event in Aarhus 12.2.2016
Introduction to the piece:
Welcome to a spot of tension.
This is a story
Apartheid in South Africa officially ended in 1994, but changing a country is hard. The scars of the past lie as deep marks in the earth both mentally and physically. The intersection between N2 and M3 just outside the city bowl area in Cape town is a modern manifestation of how the thoughts of apartheid still live on in the infrastructure of the country. In rush-hour this intersection marks the division between the mainly white and rich southern suburbs along the m3 and the poor crime and poverty haunted Cape flats along the N2. Home of the black and coloured communities.
Turn the he steering wheel and explore two sides of a story that run along these roads.
Visuals from the launch of a sustainable fashion brand created in Cape Town. The performance was a mix between fashion and visual art at Cape Town Creative Academy. (http://ctca.co.za/)
The event was an experimentation into expressing stories of identities with live visuals. The T-shirt constitutes a strong artistic frame for the visual expression
The work is inspired by local artists like Khanyisile "Mintho" Mbongwa and her work with ‘De-colonizing love’. It is an investigation into “de-consumerizing” the modern mind.
Video from the Startup Guide Copenhagen release celebration.
The content for the night was created in collaboration with the Startup Guide team. Thanks for the beautiful sessions and visual shenanigans!
Thanks to Culture Works (cultureworks.dk/) for the creative collaboration solving the brief and Zaspéro (soundcloud.com/zaspero400) for the music.
