The Interstellar Song Contest was such an incredible episode. Massive reveals aside, do not forget that it was a brilliant story about capitalism, colonialism, genocide, and a song contest during a time in which we literally have a song contest funded by corporations and nations who are actively supporting or committing genocide………..Doctor Who at its finest!

feels quite intentional that they put "mavity" in this episode so much- reminding the audience that Something Big Changed and that the show hasn't fully addressed it yet. much like the show's genre seeming to change to include gods and more fantasy elements, etc. hopefully that will all come together in the finale.
