" it's okay , let's just get home , it's okay. " he repeats , over and over and over again , the beast within is crying. Arthur raises a bloodied hand to run soothingly over his throat where they connect ( a subtle and his best way to attempt to soothe. ) He needs to be strong here. The host is slow to stand. It hurt.

this is why they needed to be careful , but the host is too tired to scold , the beast is too unstable right now and arthur just wants to go home.

They would need to lay down , rest , not move for about a week while they self medicated and helped each other just rest.

They would be okay. He holds steady onto the wall as he starts to move , but -- he stops. Because there's someone in the distance.

 how irritating that this thing always wanted to eat. He was lucky that his recital had just ended , because Arthur was not taking any of the parasites’ bullshit tonight. He firmly wraps that scarf around his neck , even though it was well past the winter months , he needs to be safe. Dusting himself off , he grabs his case and begins his walk through the streets. But his journey however , it was going to be cut short. 

         ( something is nearby ) the parasites words echo in his mind & eyes scan pale skin to look around so their host doesn’t have to turn his head. And Arthur stands firm , adjusting the scarf around his neck once more. 

       How ridiculous. He doesn’t have time for this. 

                    “ whomever is out there. I do not have time to play games. “

    he’s crying. His emotions were always too much to deal with ( his anxiety was shot even before he had started to share his body ) He wishes he could get used to this , and he was ( honestly! ) but when his body was not his for those brief moments the beast fed , coming back , he felt an uneasiness that no one else would understand. They had started to walk back from recital , he’d told his shared self that he’d wanted to go home and sleep ( wanted to hide in the house )   And he supposes they’re getting somewhere in their shared relationship when the beast knew when he was overworked and overwhelmed. They’re going home -- it was fine now , it was fine it was fine it was fine. It was a mantra he tells himself over and over and over again. 

The one thing that he’d done was let down his guard , he’d taken his scarf off to let the beast breathe ( and of course all he did was complain about how they could have just stayed home ) but it falls upon Arthurs’ uncaring ears. The massive maw stays open in place of his neck , but no one would see them , it was too late no one was out here now. 

When eyes slide to the side of his body in way of the noise behind them , Arthur realizes that maybe someone was following them. But maybe it was just his paranoia. 

          “   w-whoever’s following us -- me -- I’d advise it’s safest that you go back to where you came from. “ 

        it’s a threat , but it comes out so weak that it makes the beast within roll their eyes.

the sentient mouth on Arthur’s neck : “ excuse me we asked for no pickles “

the smell of blood makes his body move on his own , ( new place , new city , new places to hide. ) The buildings were so close together , made it easier for him to escape if need be. But no no no , they were so hungry , he’s trying to get the beast within to calm down ( they haven’t gotten a chance to eat in days , Arthur knows he’s getting hungry. ) And for them to smell this much blood from where they are , and it wasn’t their doing? What a stroke of luck. His other half takes over his body and while they’re moving through the narrow streets and walls , the scarf and bandages are peeled off in excitement , ( they are ready to eat. ) 

What they were not at all expecting was to be face to face with someone who looked like they had just done the crime. Arthur stands there , second mouth wide open , a long tongue and a huge set of teeth ready to eat. But once he sees someone staring back he doesn’t have the confidence anyway.    Arthur doesn’t at least. 

ARE YOU GOING TO EAT THAT? -- says the Maw , eyes decorate his skin , directly staring at the stranger with a question.

 he knows how it is to be scared , at least , to him , ( to them ) it looked like the younger was in some sort of distress , some sort of danger. Arthur moves the scarf higher up in defense , because he has to make sure to hide. Always to hide. He’s never seen anyone out here , the woods provided something of a protection , no one would find him out here. He’s slow to step closer , his hands are shaking , he calls out. 

     “ are . . . are you okay?  “ he asks , “ do you need any help? Are you lost?  “

the cold puts a chill in his bones ( and he knows it bothers his parasite too ) He's hiding him under a much more comfier and bulkier scarf -- the solace of the store , he frequented this place more because it seemed like no one was ever in here , still , he needs to be cautious. " what would you even make with this? " he asks , staring down at the item in hand , Maw had suggested it , but Arthur cannot imagine it could be good on it's own. The way he's speaking could be directed toward another in ear shot.

Bruises and Bruising

“You shouldn’t end up with bruises because you disagree with them. You know that, right?”

“Will you tell me how it happened?”

ACTIONS

(send ‘+reverse’ to reverse the roles, or specify which muse is which!)

[sit] – sender comes and sits next to a bruised receiver. no words, just warmth.

[care] – sender provides physical care for receiver’s bruises (ice pack, wrapping them up, etc)

[shower] – sender takes one look at a bruised and bloody receiver, and goes to run them a shower. hot showers fix everything.

[offer] – sender has something they know receiver will want, and because receiver has had a bad enough day as it is, sender gives it to them. it’s the little things.

[stay] – sender offers receiver a place to stay, so that – wherever they got these bruises – they don’t have to go back.

[concussion] – sender checks receiver for a concussion, because it’s very possible receiver has one.

[home] – sender has no physical way of helping receiver out of this situation, but they offer out their hand anyway. just to hold onto (and to not let go).
