He should have bet and madness probably took control of his mind when he simply opened this damn door. Feeling the force pushing against it, Doom did not try to fight it, he acted with a fake courtesy and opened a little wilder. No mask on, his eyes looked at the woman in front of him, impassively, not truly impressed. He took his time and finally offer his attention to… he guessed his goddaughter then, judging her with a black look. “She has her father’s nose and her mother’s eyes.” He finally shared and turned away to return to his apartment, letting the door opened.

Susan could clearly see that Doom wasn’t exactly pleased with the visit. Most likely, the other Fantastics wouldn’t be either once they found out. But Susan had always been making her own decisions, and that wasn’t going to change. “Well I hope she won’t have too much of her father’s nose.” She came into the appartement, as he left the door open. “You know, you could have come visit her sooner. She doesn’t bite. Well she does sometimes, now that she has teeths, but I brought toys for that.”

“It won’t, but making a compliment to someone usually brightens their day, don’t you think ? “ he scratched his neck. “Of the 10 we are currently playing , 1 got resolved today. He won…official stated is that I let him win.”

“Guess I’m just not used to those, then”. The tone was amused, but there was a seriousness to it. She, in fact, didn’t get compliments often. With Reed it was kind of all at once or not at all. “That also means I’m technically superior because I did beat him last time. Although I admit we were only doing one game at once.”

Susan reappeared in the corridor, right in front of the appartement she was visiting. Valeria, who couldn’t see herself invisible, made a happy laugh as she reappeared a well. Most children would have been scared, but Val just loved her mother’s powers. Good, because she’d needed them. If the building was under camera surveillance (which it most likely was), he would never open. Well, maybe there were thermal detectors as well, knowing the guys, but she had to take her chance.

So when the door opened, she made sure a force field kept it that way. “Surprise !” She shouted joyfully. “Look who’s come to pay a visit, your favorite goddaughter. Say hi Val.”

“I’m gonna tell you something, Stark. Flattery won’t get you anywhere. But I wouldn’t say the same about belgian chocolate.” She took little Valeria into her arm as the little girl was clearly getting tired of playing. “So did any of you win this time? A good suspence is good sometimes, but you’re gonna have to resolve that problem one day.”
