I don't know who needs to hear this but:
Lifting weights isn't as scary as you might think 😉
Reminder ✨
The 'best time' of the day for you to exercise is really the time that suits YOU & that fits nicely into YOUR daily routine ⚡
⚡Two things I think we need to stop apologizing for ⚡:
1) Not responding or getting back to messages right away
2) Taking time off Instagram if you needed it
Reminder that it's okay to;
⚡ not feel productive all the time
⚡ ask for help if you need it
⚡ say no to things that don't serve you
⚡ feel anxious about lockdown ending & going back out into the world again
I don't know who needs to hear this but it's really okay to take days off from exercising.
Rest days are so important for your body, your mind & your relationship with exercise!
Remember that it's never too late to:
✨ learn how to strength train/lift weights
✨ find fun new ways of moving your body
✨ or return to a form of exercise you used to enjoy!
A gentle reminder that exercise doesn't have to have anything to do with:
- losing weight
- 'torching' fat
- 'burning' calories
- getting a 'bikini body'
- 'dRoPpIng a dReSS siZe'
- earning your food
- punishing your body for how it looks
- punishing yourself for something you ate
a thought: instead of trying to bond with others by speaking negatively about our bodies, our weight or the way we look - let's have conversations about the more interesting things about ourselves & our lives, & the things that really matter to us 💗
