I guess the reason I love the name of the doctor so much is kind of the bait and switch of it, where Moffat teases that the Doctor's real name is some secret mysterious birth name that's a surprise tool to save the day, but then the Doctor drops the title in the final line "but not in the name of the Doctor" and it just clicks that it's never been about the power of the name youre given at birth. The Name of the Doctor isn't alluding to the Doctor's "real name" but the promise inherent in the title "The Doctor", which is only powerful because the Doctor chose it for himself. Idk. Do you get it. This is because Dr Who is transgender.

I dont have a paid account on audible but I still had a book to finish from when I did and can't help noticing that the same harry potter shit has been the ONLY book it advertises and begs me to try for months. I listened to some preview samples for horror novels. At the end of every single one, it proceeded to tell me the next one would be "based on my interests" and you can guess what it previewed. Why is that based on my interests??? All the novels I ever listened to were body horror?!!

He recognized the soul that adored conundrums, the soul that worked, as he said frequently, in a “rebuslike” way, and saw his own work on the boxes as the fruit of a similar urge. Dickinson’s “rebus” technique—her isolation of words, and even her peculiarities of diction that led to the changing of nouns into adjectives or participles into nouns to the distress of her contemporaries—was so intimately expressive to Cornell that it is not beyond the realm of possibility that certain of his works were visual analogues to his experience of Dickinson’s work. Certainly riddles—both grand and playful—were shared delights. And behind the riddles lay the discovery, as Dickinson put it, that “it is strange that the most intangible thing is the most adhesive.”
