“People say, ‘He plays white rock for white people. What’s he doing up here?’ Well, I want to show them that music is universal — that there is no white rock or black rock.” - Jimi Hendrix
Just back from a great trip to one of my favorite countries: Chile. We visited Easter Island, a longtime dream of mine, and had some great days in the amazing Torres del Paine National Park in #Patagonia. Both delivered on high quality experiences and photography. I’ll start with Easter Island, and I hope you won’t tire of seeing a lot of pictures of big stone heads. They are quite amazing and, truthfully, there is not much more on the tiny island of Rapa Nui. And I’ll try my best to refrain from the plethora of crude jokes that seem to more easily come to my brain than normal captions (“Getting good head on Easter Island!”). However, for those of you who know me know that refraining from such opportunities is not an easy thing for me to do. But let’s try and keep this PG, shall we? I shot this handsome profile of a Moai just after viewing sunrise at the “famous fifteen” statues at Tongariki. This good looking dude sits just up the hill from the larger Ahu (platform). I am always amazed at how people bug out minutes after the sun rises, as if the show is over. If you remember nothing else from this post, promise yourself that next time you see sunrise (or sunset) you’ll stick around for another 45 minutes. It’s often the highlight of the show and there is photographic gold in those precious 45. He’s got a good profile, right? The Rapa Nui people must have known that chicks dig a strong jawline .

This is beautiful: notes and letters Johnny Cash wrote. •The first one is a letter to June on her 65th birthday • The second is a to-do list he wrote himself • The third is a letter to June after they had stopped preforming together • The last is an entry he wrote after Junes passing
They will forever be my favorite love story.
“We laughed a lot. That’s one thing we forgot about for a few years - laughing. When we went through all the lawsuits, it looked as if everything was bleak, but when I think back to before that, I remember we used to laugh all the time.”
- George Harrison, The Beatles Anthology
