But like…you do understand that the reason this is happening is because beauty salons was the last few forms of income a women could learn in Afghanistan. It was also the last few places for a women to socially interact with other women.

They used Islam as an excuse to shut down these salons, saying that eyebrow shaping and fake hair was prohibited in Islam. Saying that makeup makes it harder for the skin to absorb water for prayer rituals.

The Taliban didn’t shut down because of makeup. They shut down to control women’s rights and used Islam as a reason why.

Now 25,000 women will be out of a job to help support themselves and their family. Many women will be left out of places to speak with other women with their last free will. Now, women will have to walked everywhere with their husbands. Now, they can’t talk with anyone anymore.

I know I should have blocked that account way earlier when I first made the post about DV shelters. Yet, the posts got weirder and more obscene and outright hateful each passing day.

I genuinely think that somebody or a group studied the current climate in our community and amplify every statement to a point of absurdity. I would not be surprised at all if the blog is run by a TRA, MRA, or even a federal. I do refuse to believe that any lesbian would write anything like that about abused and trafficked children. The moment I read the post I could not even find the will to get angry, I just felt very hurt. Can you please report and block the account? It needs to be shut down.
