idk if any young person needs to hear this but when you work at a job you absolutely can google anything you don’t know or ask someone for help. school has you conditioned to think you have to have everything memorized all the time but let me tell you. I am dumb as shit and I am great at my job because it’s not a test, it’s just work. the more resources you utilize the better.
I’m serious about this, I got out of school and thought life would be like a test where I had to have everything memorized and be smart all the time and then I got into the work force and was like. Oh everyone is stupid and google exists ok cool

i'm so proud of everyone on my dash whether you’re going to college, applying for a job, becoming more confident with yourself, getting rid of some negativity in your life, writing a story, or simply getting out of bed in the morning and making yourself a cup of coffee. i’m so proud of everyone’s achievements, big or small. you’re all so special. i’m glad that i get glimpses into your lives because it makes me happy to see you all prosper <33
Your strength is enough.🤍
Love seeing the tendency of male PhD advisors getting credit for the PhD students work I'm Don't Look Up
mornings are so quiet and moody with the sun shining on the other side of the house—i slept in a little and it was delicious but now my toes are tucked up beneath me and my coffee is hot and i’m spending some quality time with eighteenth-century women publishers (reader, i am tracking down their books and cursing mildly between sips of coffee)
internet users could benefit from regular reminders that the comment sections on complete strangers’ positive posts about their life or relationship with their parents aren’t an appropriate place for you to vent about your traumas or say stuff like “must be nice having parents that love you”
In 2022 prioritize relaxation, not being in a constant state of worry and anxiety. Being able to unplug from the worries and expectations of the world while enjoying the present moment. Prioritize setting up spaces and time to unwind and give yourself the attention and pampering you deserve. Life doesn't have to be hectic all the time.
Things my research advisor said during our meeting that made me feel so thankful I made it out of my past unhealthy advisor/advisee relationship and found someone who *gets it*
“Sara you don’t need to apologize for being sick, you’ll figure it out, I don’t expect you to be productive”
“Let’s be realistic, most 1st years aren’t even doing research, you don’t need to put extra pressure on yourself. Don’t even worry about the clean room right now”
“Don’t worry about the admin stuff, just focus on getting through this semester”
“Explaining things to undergrads for an hour can be exhausting…trust me I know…it can make you want to bang your head on a wall. That’s normal and everyone has that experience, don’t be too hard on yourself.”
I’m stressed about classes and life but having this kind of support is fantastic.
i think it's funny that she says "Nov 12th. Remember it." as if we weren't going to think about it every single second until it's released
it’s okay if you don’t want to shoot for the stars. the ground is just as good and it’s sturdy, ready for you to plant your roots and grow comfortably. you don’t need big, crazy aspirations to live a happy life or to be admirable!
I finished my bachelors thesis on a lazy Tuesday afternoon in a cozy Café ✍🏼📝
