Reason #2361726495 why i write reasonable to-do lists at the beginning of the day and not just do whatever - i wrote 1200 words today and drafted a presentation i’m giving on wednesday. thats a decent amount of work but it doesn’t feel like enough. it never feels like enough, and it never will. to-do lists keep me in check, stop me studying endlessly into the night in search of the magical feeling of “enough”.

so i know i haven’t been tagged, and i’m not going to ask you to ask me the questions, as i feel like it’d be fun to answer them all, but if you want to come up with your own questions to ask me based off these ones, go ahead!

1:What would you name your future daughter? ~Currently, I like the name Selene, or maybe Angel; I couldn’t pick between the two.

2:Do you miss anyone? ~Yes, I miss my best friend, we haven’t had a proper conversation in weeks due to an argument nearly a month ago.

3:What if I told you that you were pretty? ~I’d say thank you so much, I don’t get called pretty very often at all so I’m very grateful you think that of me.

4:Ever been told “it’s not you, it’s me”? ~No, I’ve only been in one relationship before so I haven’t had the opportunity to be told that.

5:What are you looking forward to in the next week? ~Tomorrow I’m going to my first Ballroom&Latin American dance class, and then on Tuesday I have my first water polo lesson, so that’s really exciting for me!

6:Did you go out or stay in last night? ~I stayed in, it’s a school night and I’m only 15!

7:How late did you stay up last night? ~I think it was about 11:45 by the time I got to sleep last night.

8:Honestly, has anyone seen you in your underwear in the past 3 months? ~Other than my mum, no.

9:What were you doing at 12:30 this afternoon? ~Eating lunch in the canteen with my friends.

10:Have you ever told somebody you loved them and not actually meant it? ~Yes, unfortunately.

11:Could you go for the rest of your life without drinking alcohol? ~I haven’t ever drunk all that much, due to my age, so sure I could!

12:Have you pretended to like someone? ~Yup, because I wasn’t sure of my feelings for them. Not fun.

13:Could you go the rest of your life without smoking a cigarette? ~Definitely, I’ve never smoked before and don’t plan on doing so.

14:Is there one person in your life that can always make you smile? ~My two best friends that I’m still talking to always crack me up, if I’m down I go and talk to them and my bad mood is instantly forgotten!

15:Is it hard for you to get over someone? ~Very hard.

16:Think back five months ago, were you single? ~Single as a Pringle.

17:Have you ever cried from being so mad? ~Sure I have, although I think it was anger and stress.

18:Hold hands with anyone this week? ~Nope.

19:Did your last kiss take place in/on a bed? ~No, although it could’ve done.

20:Who did you last see in person? ~My mum.

21:What is the last thing you said out loud? ~”Thank you”

22:Have you kissed three or more people in one night? ~Unless you count family, no.

23:Have you ever been to Paris? ~No but I’d love to go sometime, hopefully during my gap year of travel.

24:Are you good at hiding your feelings? ~Very good, I’m like a brick wall sometimes.

25:Do you use chap stick? ~I use a chapstick alternative, but essentially, yes.

26:Who did you last share a bed with? ~Probably my ex-friend when we last had a sleepover a few years back.

27:Are you listening to music right now? ~No, but I wish I was.

28:What is something you currently want right now? ~I currently want the X-Men Complete Collection dvd boxset.

29:Were your last three kisses from the same person? ~Not counting family, yes.

30:How is your heart lately? ~My heart is a little weary, emotionally, but physically it’s healthy as a horse.

31:Do you wear the hood on your hoodie? ~Only when it rains, it irritates me otherwise.

32:When was the last time a member of the opposite sex hugged you? ~I think two days ago.

33:What do people call you? ~Just my name, I don’t have nicknames.

34:Have you ever wanted to tell someone something but didn’t? ~So many times you wouldn’t believe.

35:Are there any stressful situations in your life? ~Well currently I’m in Year 11, and mock exam season is coming up, so that’s stressful, but other than that not really.

36:What are you listening to right now? ~Vaguely, MIKA, but right at this minute, silence.

37:What is wrong with you right now? ~Right now I feel like I’m too self-conscious, but also I’m recovering from a cold.

38:Love really is a beautiful thing huh? ~Absolutely amazing.

39:Do you make wishes at 11:11? ~I used to, when 11:11 was in my break, but now it’s during lessontime so I don’t normally catch it.

40:What is on your wrists right now? ~Nothing.

41:Are you single/taken/heartbroken/confused/waiting for the unexpected? ~Waiting for the unexpected, there’s a lot of new things happening in my life coming up so I’m hoping one (or a few) of those can bring me some new luck.

42:Where did you get the shirt/sweatshirt you’re wearing? ~A shop called Next.

43:Have you ever regretted kissing someone? ~A lot, actually.

44:Have you hugged someone within the last week? ~My best mate and my parents.

45:Have you kissed anyone in the last five days? ~Other than my family, no.

46:What were you doing at midnight last night? ~Sleeping.

47:Do you miss the way things were six months ago? ~Yeah, of course. Six months ago I was still 14, I was still talking to my best friend and I was still in Year 10, so it wasn’t super stressful.

48:Would you rather sleep with someone else or alone? ~Alone.

49:Have you ever been to New York? ~Yes, a few years back; I absolutely loved it, although my parents and I were rushed around by my auntie and cousins who lived in Connecticut at the time.

50:Think of the last person who said I love you, do you think they meant it? ~Well, it was my mum, so I’d hope so.

like many other smaller content creators, my visibility has crashed since the “best stuff first” feature was rolled out. this means that since we aren’t guaranteed an audience, it’s so much harder to create new posts and resources - we don’t know if they’ll even be seen by our followers! here’s how to turn the setting off.

1. go to your settings.

click the little gear icon that comes up when you view your blog!

2. click “general settings”.

it should be right at the top!

3. click “dashboard preferences”.

4. turn “best stuff first” off!

this way, you’ll be able to see content from everyone you follow, not just the bloggers with the most followers! this community is a place for everyone - support blogs no matter their size by turning this setting off. 💛

As a studyblr, I procrastinate. I have weak subjects, and I get stressed easily. I lie to myself, “Yeah, this won’t be tested.” I quit my notes halfway because my motivation runs out, and when it returns, my forgetfulness and lack of organisation means that I don’t remember them. I scroll through my dash and think, “Wow. I’m so much less dedicated, hardworking, passionate than these people. I’m so much less than these people.”

I receive messages in my inbox that say, “Wow. You’re so inspiring.” And I can never fathom how someone could actually believe that. 

And then I do. Because the words we type, documenting our day, and the photos we post, perfectly arranged - they show an impossible, unreal version of ourselves. The best angle of ourselves - neat handwriting, brilliant modesty, impeccable focus, and enviable responsibility.

Just like how you shouldn’t unfairly compare yourselves to magazine covers, because they aren’t real, you shouldn’t compare your educational journeys to those of other studyblrs, because they aren’t a full and unbiased representation of how other people actually study (unglamorously).
