people are wishing for other aziracrow kisses, but tbh i think i’d be more like them to have like another kiss for repairing purpose, and then not really much of those. they have other ways of expressing their love, but maybe it is just because they restrained themselves from being touchy. but i don’t see them feeling much of lust - but then aziraphale is the definition of gluttony so….
maybe i just don’t really care about them kissing cause i don’t feel it means as much as many other forms of love expression for them
just heard about the top ship on ao3 data, the ineffable husbands were top.19 for 2023, can’t wait to see what consequences season 2 will have on those numbers
i'm pretty sure one of the lines in the end scene where crowley shoots himself in the foot the most is "i think i understand a whole lot better than you do," and i don't even think he realizes how badly aziraphale takes it.
it's just a fact to him: he knows better than aziraphale what heaven is like. it's also a fact to the audience, who knows that the metatron is doing this for bad reasons and that aziraphale is walking into a trap. but it's not a fact to aziraphale. and that's the moment aziraphale goes from panicky and anxious to angry.
aziraphale's self-doubts and anxieties concerning his identity as an angel are shown frequently in s2. we start 2x01 with him deeply insecure in his 'retirement': crowley mentions that aziraphale frequently calls him to "tell him about something clever he did," and aziraphale confirms that he is essentially using these conversations as a stand-in for reporting to heaven. he misses being on The Good Team and doesn't know what to do with himself now that he's not.
so aziraphale doesn't know who he is if he's not an angel, but he also knows that he's a bad angel. he was frequently mocked and condescended to in heaven (by seemingly everyone, not just the archangels; even the quartermaster in s1 called him pathetic). he lied to heaven, he lied to god, he enjoys earthly pleasures, he loves works with a demon, and he doubts the Plan. he never fit in with them. lonely, remember?
and later in the season, we learn that shax, for all that she apparently is not great with sarcasm, is remarkably perceptive when picking up on insecurities. she mocks aziraphale twice, first in the car for his relationship with crowley (which, interestingly, doesn't faze him a bit--remember the eyebrow? he's not at all insecure in his knowledge that crowley loves him. crowley has always been the thing he's most sure of, even very early on--look at how much faith he has in him with job.) the second time she hits much harder: "crowley's emotional support angel," "shall we send in the sushi?" "the softest touch" etc. it hurts him, you can see it.
and there's another tiny moment in 2x05 I don't think I've ever seen anyone talk about, where crowley has just bluffed to the demon horde and is trying to get all the humans together to leave. crowley says, "I won't leave you on your own," and aziraphale says, "I know. But I have a suggestion--" and crowley brushes him off, saying "I got this." aziraphale looks very frustrated by this exchange, which--yeah! fair!
and over and over, we just--we see crowley be right. right about job and god, right about elspeth, right about the magic trick, the nazis, the arrangement, the apocalypse. "you were right, you were right, i was wrong, you were right." crowley's never done the dance before, he says. how many times has aziraphale had to?
and crowley's not just right, he's confident in it! he moves through the world and makes choices that fly in the face of everything aziraphale knows about Good and Evil, and it seems to come so easily to him. he's loud, and he's brave, and he's full of conviction, and aziraphale often feels overshadowed by that surety, because he's so often full of doubt. "you sound jealous, angel," is what crowley says at job's mansion, and i think he's more right than he knows.
all this to say: when crowley says "I think I understand a whole lot better than you do," what aziraphale hears is you idiot and how can somebody as clever as you be so stupid and I was right, I was right, you were wrong, I was right. and he's fucking sick of it.
and so he doubles down, and he gets in the stupid elevator, and he makes the worst mistake of his life, because he's sick of being treated as heaven's lackey or crowley's sidekick. the metatron knew exactly what to say to get him there, and crowley had no idea he was playing directly into it.

His outfit is my own archangel headcannon
I chose high neck and thick cuffs to make him as uncomfortable as possible to show that he doesn't belong in heaven
Also reminiscent of prisoner chains and cuffs to show how he is a prisoner of heavens doctrine now
His collar is like the one in the show except I've extended the edges so that it's shaped like a star since im assuming they wouldn't allow him to wear his tartan bowtie in heaven (reference to this fan theory) and his collar will now remind him of crowley instead
The collar is also supposed to look like a jesters hat with bells at the end to show the blatant disrespecc L metatron has for the dear angel and how he's being played
Am still not done with it I might try to frame az in the art noveau style background

I enjoy Az already realising he likes Crowley by the time Adam appears but hasn't yet worked out what to do with that information bc acts-of-service Crowley Can't Talk, Wont Talk.
Crowley on the other hand has been VERY GOOD at ignoring why he spends so much of his time around Az so only on the crux of YOU'RE GOING TO LOOSE HIM did anything manage to force its way through to his brain. (i did not enjoy crowley being told he was in love with az in s2, i think he could have worked it out himself)
i rly enjoy hcs where they started sleeping together and with humans for fun (i mean the ox ribs scene sets some v good precedent for this) az sleeps with humans bc he indulges! he likes pleasure! crowely on the other hand is very bad at catching feelings and doesnt like it when they die so has mostly only slept with az (did i mention he's VERY good at ignoring his feelings) but they probably haven't slept together for a few hundred years when adam pops up.
my compliant show!hcs are still that az knows he loves crowley (i mean the scene with jim where he leaps out of the chair to attempt to protect crowley saying no he defo doesnt know ANYONE who he feels that way with, don't look closely at anyone he is with) and is just sort of sitting on it still, waiting for any hint from crowley, planning a ball definitely only for humans and no other reason. Crowley is obviously very protective of Az but he still hasn't clicked why he's worried about him but he doesn't have the excuse of heaven or hell anymore so it wouldn't have taken much for him to work it out (hello one of his first lines in s2 is "you ever think, what's the point?" the point is love you idiot)
(book!gomens is just they're already married and have been fucking for centuries but the book just doesnt mention that.)
I said it after the end of Season One and I'm saying it, again, after the end of Season Two. THIS is one of the most overlooked scenes in the entirety of Good Omens (the show) and I am forever fascinated by it:
God, voiceover: Aziraphale. Angel of the Eastern Gate. Where is the flaming sword I gave you, Aziraphale, to guard the Gate of Eden?
AZIRAPHALE. LIED. TO. GOD. (And God's light goes out!!)
I've always been fascinated by this, because mmboy the implications, but after Season 2, those implications just got a lot...mmboy-er! In hindsight, it makes me wonder why Aziraphale had such a hard time lying to the Angels in front of Job's family and Bildad the Shuhite, and why he thought doing so meant that he was automatically going to hell, because he'd already lied before! To! God! I suppose, in protecting Job's family, he was knowingly going along with a demon, so that could have made him self-aware as opposed to when he instinctively lied to God, on his own, but also isn't that interesting? And the fact that giving Adam and Eve the sword was already an act of defiance! Side-note: I'm still in awe that, technically, Crowley and Aziraphale are responsible for the initial will and survival of humanity. Anywho, if you believe the 'Aziraphale was lying to Crowley at the end of Season 2 Episode 6' theory (I'm personally on the fence about it, but I like it a helluva—no pun intended—lot more than the 'coffee theory') then Aziraphale having the ability to tell this massive lie to Crowley is supported by that eensy weensy tiny winy probably insignificant moment when AZIRAPHALE LIED TO GOD.
Except, except, what if that moment wasn't eensy nor weensy nor tiny nor winy nor insignificant!? What if God's light going out represents something? Something that Aziraphale isn't ready to admit: that he lied (to God!!!) and that God knows he lied because Knowing is kind of God's whole Thing. And, sure, he's still an angel (albeit one who goes along with heaven as far as he can), he didn't Fall, he's not a demon...but that light went out, that light went out and God stopped talking to Aziraphale, and as far as I remember, God has never talked to Aziraphale since, and all these years and new episodes later, I still think there's significance to that. And now, Aziraphale is heading into the lion's den, when he lied to the lion millennia ago. And I think that it's going to get very interesting...
when crowley tries to convince aziraphale at the end of ep6 (lowkey have been trying for centuries now) that heaven is not good, that him become the supreme archangel won't change anything in this rotten system
he desperatly tells him, but aziraphale doesn't hear what he's saying
please make sure that wherever you’re at in life, you don’t treat it like a transitory period. don’t waste your college years wishing to already be graduated & have a job. don’t waste your single years wishing for someone to be in love with. if/when those things come, they will come in due time and they will be good. but there is nothing like looking back and feeling empty because you wasted literal years ignoring what you had because you were hoping for something better. while it’s important to better yourself and reach for your goals, don’t neglect the present because that’s where you are now and it’s your now that determines your future.
