finally got my bullet journal set up for the new year!!
I LOVE LOVE LOVE the idea of framing the printable calendar!
Day 11|100
I dislike days when thereās no motivation or inspiration, especially when I need to get a lot done.
bullet journal inspo like maaaaad via boho berry
OOOH LOOVE
itās so cuuuute c:
hello fam!! after multiple requests to make this post, iām finally writing this!! yay!! okay, so letās get started:
whatās a bullet journal? basically, itās a DIY journal system that you can customize to your own liking. hereās a post that explains bullet journalling in more detail! bullet journals are used by studyblrs and people all around the world because theyāre super flexible and easy to make!
how do you set up your bullet journal? above are some excerpt pages from my bullet journal, and iām going to talk you through each one!
picture one (top left): arguably the most common layout for bullet journals, this is named the daily spread (or to-do)! in my daily spreads, i have a small flag that indicates the date, then i write down the day and below it are the tasks that i need to complete on that day! on the right page, as you see, is a random-thoughts page. i like having random-thoughts pages since i can write down anything iām feeling or thinking of on that page so i donāt forget it later!Ā
picture two (top right): now we have my weekly spreads, in which i write down all the tasks i need to finish by the end of the week in one column (my deadlines column). i also write down events that are happening on that specific week (tests, projects, etc) i like to decorate my spreads with washi tape/colored pens too! i like weekly spreads for school weeks that are busier, since i can keep track of all my assignments on one page and take a quick glance of how much i have left to do, or how much iāve completed!
picture three (bottom left): this is from a long time ago, but itās my term break spread! this type of spread, as i like to call it, is a holidays spread. as you see, i have deadlines & an agenda for the break, as well as a few goals! on the right side, i have a modified version of the daily spread, fit to my term break needs! i used post-its to contrast it from the gridded background, and also because theyāre a great size to fit my daily to-do!
picture four (bottom right): now we have version 2 of my holidays spread, for winter break! this time, i have a schedule on the top left page and some goals below that. on the right page, i have a study methods portion to help me with my revisions (random-thoughts section, oops), as well as a small calendar of sorts to help me stay on track with the days!! i like this spread better than my previous one for the term break since i donāt have a lot of deadlines to meet, and iāll be stuck doing a lot of the same tasks every day.
so there you have it: my bullet journal spreads set-up! i hope this was helpful, please do give this a like/reblog if you found this helpful and continue requesting for posts here!!

People like this will come far in life, unlike meā¦..
If you try your best, you will achieve a lot too. You just have to wish it and believe really hard and then take action. ā¤ššš
This post by Second Year Studying got me inspired to make a printable that you can stick to your wall to remind you of what to do when you are stressed /feeling anxious about studying. (I do recommend you to read the post more than once)
I didnāt try it yet, because I am not on exam season but I am sure that this will help me when I am feeling overwhelmed.
Hey Lovelies!x
Hiya!!x Iām Emily and Iām new to the studyblr community. Iām going into university next year and I guess I really wanted to create a place that could keep me calm and inspire me to study but I also really inspire other people as well.Ā
Iād love to follow more studyblrs so if youād like to like/reblog that would be such a help to me :)x
Thank you to @amistudies @jornaling @studybuzz @studybuz @emmastudies
@elkstudies @elevenfortystudy @hayley-studies @studyvividlyĀ @haleystudiesā
@studygoalsaf
I donāt know some of you but Iāve followed you for a while with my main blog, Ā youāve all really inspired me in creating my studyblr and given me great ideas about how to study and organise things and Ā it just means so much :)x so thank you
I think that iāve found the best pomodoro app ever!Ā
Itās called Flat Tomato and itās so aesthetically pleasing and so easy to use.
All you need to do is set the name of the task that youāre doing, and youāre set! And if you want you can change the duration of your work time and breaks.
I really like it because you get a permanent notification on your lock screen while itās working that tells you how much break time or work time you have left. It also has a widget that shows you exactly how much time you have left.
There is an option that works exactly like the Forrest app (and you save 0.99$!!), if you leave the app the pomodoro will stop!
There different levels and achievements, the more levels you get the more notification sounds you can choose.
And itās 100% free!!! (except a calendar option that shows your progress but I donāt really find it essential)

A quick tip for writers out there, who use Microsoft Words:
Change the background colour of the pages to a mint green shade.
It is said that green is a calming colour, however, the main reason why I like this, is because I can write for a much longer period of time now, as a white background I used before made my eyes dry and exhausted after just a few hours of working.
It is basically much more soft and careful to the eyes. I canāt precisely explain why that is. I think itās that by making a pinch softer contrast of the text and the background, your eyes does not get exposed to as much light.
Just make sure to not make the background too dark, or else your eyes will get exhausted do to over-fixating the lack of contrast between text and background.
And maybe you find a nice pastel/light background shade that fits you; give it a try.
Different things work out and fits for different people. And I just felt like sharing this.
Hereās the shade numbers I used to get my preferred colour:
Thanks for reading.
DUDE
You just solved a very real problem for me! Thanks!
For those who might not know where to find this: Itās in the Page Layout tab.
I had no idea this was possible before today!
you can also do this with google docs under FILE > PAGE SETUP !!
Some finalsā revision notes.
Itās 2016. You need motivation? No, what you need is discipline.Ā ITāS TIME TO FOCUS. Force yourself to do things. Force yourself to get up early, make your bed, go get ready, and go. Force yourself to make plans for the day, and follow through with all those plans. Force yourself to get to class early so you can look over the material. Force yourself to pay attention in class and turn off your phone or at least put it on silent. Stop texting your friends and going on Instagram in class. You areĀ wastingĀ your time, so why even bother going to class ifĀ your are going to be distracted? Be selfish. Stop giving your time to people that do not matter. YOUR TIME IS SO SO PRECIOUS. STOP WASTING IT! This is the most important thing that you can do right now, take care of you and your education. Stop being distracted by the world and itās never ending problems. This is the time that you need to put toward yourself because you are the greatest investment of your life. EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. EVERYDAY is a chance to wake up and give your 150%. EXHAUST yourself. That is the only way to give your all. At the end of the day, you should be exhausted from working so much, from reading so much, from exercising so much. Donāt go home because you are tired. Do whatever you need to get done and donāt come home until itās all done. Stay late at the library. You feel tired? Good. That is how you know you are giving it your best. Go to the gym, and give your work out your all. When you go home, you should feel like you are drained. You should feel like you have nothing left to give because you gave it your all. Because then, you can be proud of yourself and everything you have achieved. Giving it your all is what matters. Give your all every single day. Discipline your mind and your body and you will become successful. You fall back one day? That is O.K., try the next day. You are human, so accept your mistakes. However, love yourself enough to know that you will never giving. THIS IS IT. THIS IS YOUR LIFE. Right now, no matter what circumstances we are all in, is what matters. Take advantage of today. Write down your dreams and force yourself to work toward them, one day at a time.Ā ITāS TIME TO FOCUS. THIS is your year. This is your life. One day at a time baby. One day at a time. Go ahead and donāt stop.

Saturday, January 2, 2016 New year, new adventures!! Set up my very first bullet journal today with the verses I love, quotes, and adding stuffs to my bucket list ššš
The best studying advice I have ever received
If you canāt find the motivation to get to work on something, force yourself to pick it up for just two minutes. The key word is force; procrastination is tempting, but keep in mind that there is nothing physically stopping you from doing what you have to do.
After those two minutes, if you still do not want to keep going, put it away and go do something else. Even if you stop after two minutes, you will have two minutes worth of knowledge that you did not have before.
More likely than not, though, those two minutes will make it easy to just keep going. Often times, the hardest part is getting started.
PSA for everyone writing term research papers right now
Mendeley is the greatest program ever
I want to weep with joy every time I use it
Just click a button when you pull up an article and it will automatically save it to your library
And cite it for you
And you can use it on your mobile devices
And itās free
Just download it and you wonāt have so many urges to kill everyone in sight while writing a research paper
Thank you so much!
Guys, I cannot stress how amazing this program is.Ā
You can use it to highlight, write notes, mark up, etc. What I do is I highlight all the important jazz, use the comments to write notes on the document, and on the side bar, I write an annotated bib for it for future me. It save everything you write on it forever for you and you can put the articles in folders and organize it.
But thatās not the best part, the best part is that you can access your articles ANYWHERE. Literally anywhere. Forgot your laptop and at a public library? No worries! You can go to the Mendeley website and ACCESS ALL YOUR ARTICLES WITH YOUR NOTES ONLINE. You donāt even have to download the program to access it! It is a life saver and I suggest everyone in academia use it!
Iāve used it. Probably not even to its full potential, and itās very useful, Iāll say. Do it.
