A web page that tells you what your browser gave away the moment you arrived. No login, no form, no permission. Most pages do this. None of
This feels pretty fearmonger-y. Most of the info that my browser "gave away" is just basic information needed to render a website
Every website has your IP because that is how the internet works
If a page needs to display anything time related it needs your timezone
Browser, operating system, and obviously screen size all affect how a page is displayed. It didn't even report which version of the OS I was running
If a website has multiple languages knowing my browser language helps it display the right one
The entire point of selecting dark mode is to transmit that to websites so they display in dark mode
The only things that were kinda concerning here were the gyroscope and the presence tracking but like. there are worse things it could be doing. I am significantly more worried about apps and websites with mandatory permissions than I am about literally any of this
Even worse!
i block ppl all the time so my blocklist ranges from "actual fucking asshole fascist" n "post that mildly annoyed me because im petty" and if i went thru my blocklist rn i probably would have no idea why i blocked each of them but whatever
leaving this on someones parked car after i ram into it
"Using an Oxford comma is a sign of AI"
bestie boo, let me fill you in on something: if you're going to take any part of 'good grammar' and randomly assign it to She's A Witch! AI, you might as well give up. It's over. You're cooked. Anyone who has spent the last decade or more learning to type properly, anyone who has spent any time writing articles/papers/essays that require you to use 'good grammar' is going to fall into that 'oh no it might be AI' trap.
Stop hunting like it's 1692. You're not going to find Goody Proctor at the ChatGPT sacrament. What you're going to do is exactly what happened back then: harming people who've done nothing wrong.
can I reblog this a million times
Everyone can reblog it: you, me, and all our followers.
I don't want my cellphone to have AI I want it to have 3 days of battery time. I don't want my computer to have AI preinstalled I want it to have seven usb ports and high ram at affordable price. I don't want my games to have AI built levels I want them to be so optimized I could run them on a nokia.
yesterday i kept trying to use my phone's special zoom lens to take a picture of a bald eagle on its nest and every time i would capture it, i would go check the photo and it was gone. it took me two tries to realize the phone was doing AI post processing to sharpen the image and smoothing away the eagle every time. then i put my phone down and went, well, enough of that. when AI has finished smoothing out and averaging human creation into a bland and unnotable wash of grey, it will have rendered itself obsolete.
it's good enrichment for The Character(s) when one of their friends gets possessed and they have to find some way to bring them back. great friendgroup bonding activity. especially if they have to do some exorcism bullshit and it's traumatizing for everyone involved and there's collapsing and sobbing afterward. great thing for The Character(s) to do. highly recommend.
