The most difficult part of any exam-prep is probably getting started.

I know this exam is as important as NEET UG was because it will change a lot of things in my life.

I make 1000 excuses every single day so that I don't have to study. It has been 2 months since my internship began and here I am standing behind the starting line making excuses, waiting for the perfect plan.

Not anymore!!

I will get above this resistance and no matter how hard it is, I will keep climbing up every single day.

So let time t=0;

Plan for today:

Revise 20 pages of pediatrics and solve 20 mcqs. (yes I am starting small)

2 days to MBBS Finals!!!

It's tough. It's lengthy. It's merciless.

But I feel so proud to have reached here. From a school student who wondered what MBBS life would be like, to the most senior batch of a Government Medical College now, I have learnt a lottttt.

It is easier to keep going without constantly thinking about the goal.

But the problem with this is that you might be going too slow or in the wrong direction and you won't realise. So we like it or not, targets should be set, plans should be made. And once made, we should trust the process and keep going.

There are many small mental systems that help me beat the stress that comes from overwhelming to-dos.

My exams are going on. And I have to cover a lot many topics than before.

The system is: to create a TO-Do in priority order. And then apply this approach:

If not 100, do 50. If not 50, 25. If not 25, do 12.5......and so on.

It takes some time before it gets better.

It did get better for me. Last week and before that, it was very difficult for me to even believe that I could study for these exams- or any exams. It's like I was drained even before starting. I was exhausted just by being scared the whole year- and I don't blame myself because the Medical Education system in my country does not consider you as a human. The stress that they impose on you is illogical-irrelevant-stupid.

It took me 8-9 months to cope up with this and finally- I am out. Not scared of their bullshit anymore. Just studying.

Studying is my first love. This is something that makes me feel like I exist.

I really hope these monsters stop doing this to our juniors( I know they won't)

I am proud of myself for surviving the MBBS Final year. And yes: I am not scared of the results. I will work hard but without the fear of not getting the results.

Winters: beautiful nights? No. Seasonal depression. Keeps taking over me.

But I am solving this problem.

The biggest stressor event is : the sense of not being able to study as much as I need to.

And to add on, a really important and long longgg exam is approaching in 6 days.

I am scared. No. Not of the exam. Not of the fact that I don't have enough time. But scared that I will keep feeling low and anxious and not study and feeling low about it.

The solution?

Well, it's simple. Study!

Move. Don't think. Just act.

List out the things you need to cover. Write how many times you will revise. And go!

For next 6-7 days, I am going to work like a robot.

And be easy on yourself 🤍

At least you're trying!

Studying is like flowing through the stream of concepts. It should not feel like you are swimming against the flow.

Take your time.

Let the hard concepts digest.

It's okay if you are slow in grasping some point.

Let your mind accept the subject. Don't worry about speed. Once you know the soul of the subject, you will be very quick in grasping it.

So if you're struggling with some thing --- SLOW DOWN.

I am starting some study challenges today.

Pediatrics: I will watch lectures. Read the main textbook and take notes separately.

Next 10 days 10 topics.

Surgery: (I will spend some time trying get the love for surgery back.. 🥶)

No matter how slow I go, I will devote an hour to the subject daily.

Winters!!

I have no idea why I am so low on energy for 3-4 days. I don't want to study after 6 PM.

This is not going to work.

Surgery is a bit difficult and I read surgery at 6(....maybe that's why)

I will now use the "layering method" of learning. Also, I'll try to simplify as much as I can. Our brain tends to avoid difficult stuff.

Sunday

Woke up at 7.

I don't know what to do on Sundays. I can't study nonstop the whole day! By 10.45-11.00 I just don't know what to do.

Anyways, my morning started with a spoon of pure honey🍯Then I had some really good Poha and Masala Tea.

Done with exercise. Watched 2 lectures. Now waiting for lunch🫣

I wish I knew how to deal with Sundaysss🪿

"You didn't come this far to come only this far"

I used to hear it a lot during my NEET UG days. The time to finally apply it has come.

Life has changed. What has been constant is my love for studying.

I have around 16 months for the big exam.

Next 8 months I will devote to completing the subjects, understanding, concept building and of course acing the university exam(scheduled somewhere in March/April)

My approach will be to study less and apply more in terms of MCQs and answer writing.

(Although I shouldn't but) let me call it day ONE!

Next milestone would be completing certain units so that I am able to solve unit wise custom modules.

Time management sounds like an outdated term now.

Setting a timetable, pre deciding when I will study what, and planning it (microplanning I would say) for the whole month, week, day and hours!!!

A, it has never worked for more than 1-2 days. And B, it just adds up to all the stress.

What I try to do now is make a system. Have a rough plan regarding the syllabus and deadline, and then set my mind free to decide when and how I am going to study something. Flow state is fun. And you betfun is more sustainable than stress😉

🙊Disclaimer: When I write "some men" I mean some 2-3/10 of them. And this is not some random rant, I have been experiencing it for quite some time and I have seen other girls go through the same. So please be patient while you read this.

It's too difficult for SOME MEN to accept that a female has a more powerful presence than them.

Such men will blame you, shame you, call you names, question from where you came... This is how they have been succeeding in pulling women down. You please don't allow that!

SOME MEN expect you to see the world ( including yourself) through their lens. And when you refuse to do so( ...ah please be easy on them and please do consider that the women in their life are not fortunate enough to think this way and show them mirror) ... So when you refuse to do so they get confused. CONFUSED, ANXIOUS, NERVOUS and BELITTLED. As if somebody has snatched their throne.

The only real power they had was to manipulate women into thinking that they are less. Now when you take that power away from them, their defense mode gets activated and they (... Please please be easy on them for they weren't taught to handle their fragile ego) behave in passive aggressive manner. (Backhanded compliments, "most girls have a bad character", " You're not even pretty", passive insults)

Please take that power away from them. Please do other women this favour.

When you choose growth, their whole planning to pull you down fails. And the overthinking that they designed for you now works against them. Your growth makes them even more uncomfortable.

So people... If you are getting hate from men for no apparent reason, you might be the person they couldn't compete with!!

Excuse their fragile ego and keep breaking it🙇‍♂️

I wont go to my course today. I will go to my orthodontist today to make a plan for my surgery! Im so excited!
